We’re passing along some simple, practical mealtime ideas from Munch & Move for you to try at home.

🍽️🥗Mealtimes are a great place for learning and connection. Encourage children to talk about food, notice colours and textures, and explore where food comes from, while building their curiosity.

🖤🍞 Today is VEGEMITE DAY!

From cheesy Vegemite scrolls to classic Vegemite sandwiches, this Aussie favourite is always a hit with our little learners. The children loved exploring the smell, the colour, and that salty taste that makes Vegemite so iconic.

Now we want to hear from our families…
How do you enjoy Vegemite at home — thin spread, thick spread, with butter, on toast, in scrolls, or something totally unique?

Share your favourite Vegemite style below and let’s celebrate this Aussie classic together! 🇦🇺✨

As we head into winter, Queensland Health shares information on keeping you and your family healthy!

It’s winter in Queensland, aka puffer jackets, hot drinks and dressing for Antarctica when it’s 20°C. 🥶☕

But while we joke about the cold, winter illnesses are no laughing matter. 🤧

The flu can cause serious illness and lead to hospitalisation. It can be particularly serious for people aged 65 years and over, infants, young children, pregnant women, and anyone with a chronic illness or low immunity, which is why vaccination is so important for these groups.

The free flu vaccine is available now for all Queenslanders aged 6 months and older.

All children aged 2 to 5 years, (before they turn 6), can now get a free nasal spray vaccine instead of an injection. Older children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years (before they turn 18) can also get the nasal spray vaccine for free if they struggle with needles.

You can get your vaccination from a GP, pharmacy, community clinic, or another vaccination provider.

For more information about the flu vaccine, visit: https://www.vaccinate.initiatives.qld.gov.au/what-to-vaccinate-against/influenza

🍂 As the weather cools down, it’s time for a cosy menu refresh!

This week we introduced porridge for the children to explore, and they’ve been learning to try new foods with so much curiosity and confidence. It’s been wonderful watching them engage with new textures, tastes, and warm winter comfort foods.

As we continue planning our cooler‑weather menu, we’d love to hear from our families.
What warm, delicious meals does your family enjoy during the colder months? 🍲❄️

Share your favourites below — your ideas help inspire our menu and support the children’s food‑exploration journey.

🌱✨ Our front garden has received a facelift! ✨🌱

We have purposefully created a garden featuring some beautiful Australian native plants, including Lilly Pilly, Kangaroo Paw, and Native Violet. These plants not only look beautiful but also help children connect with the unique environment around us.

As our garden grows, we’d love to hear from our community! 🌿

What other Australian native plants would you recommend for our future gardening projects? Share your ideas in the comments below! 💚

🌿🖤💛❤️ Cultural connections are so important to us! ❤️💛🖤🌿

We are excited to be building connections with Dandiri Library in Inala, a wonderful resource supporting schools and early childhood services with Indigenous books, resources, and knowledge sharing.

Through these resources, we can continue to strengthen children’s sense of connection, belonging, and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

We can’t wait to explore and learn together! 🌱✨

Last night our amazing team gathered together to learn, grow, and reflect as we explored the meaning and importance of Reconciliation Week ❤️🖤💛

As part of our evening, we got creative and shared what reconciliation means to each of us through beautiful heart creations filled with thoughts, hopes, and messages of unity and connection.

These hearts have now become part of a special display in our foyer! 🫶

As we recognise the importance of Reconciliation Week, we invite our wonderful community to join in by creating your own heart to add to our collection. Together, we can continue the conversation, learn from one another, and help build a stronger Australia for future generations.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and sharing this meaningful journey together! 🇦🇺

🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week – All In

Next week we recognise National Reconciliation Week, and this year’s theme — ‘All In’ — reminds us that every one of us has a role to play in creating a more just, respectful, and connected Australia.

As part of our learning and reflection, we invite our wonderful community to join us by drawing or writing what reconciliation means to you 🖍️✍️
Your contributions will become part of our community display in the foyer.

Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. (Words from Reconciliation Australia.)

This week is a powerful reminder that the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples will — and must — continue.

❤️ Hearts are available in the foyer for you and your family to create and share.
We can’t wait to see your meaningful contributions.

🌟 Little Builders, Big Learning

Our Pre Kindy friends have been busy creating, building, and experimenting with real tools 🛠️✨
With hammers and screwdrivers in hand, they’ve been learning how things work — and how capable they truly are.

Using real tools supports children in developing fine‑motor skills, problem‑solving abilities, and safe risk‑taking 💪🧠
Most importantly, it empowers them to trust their bodies and their abilities.

We’re so proud of their curiosity and confidence 🌈
