⚡FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡| Today’s Flashback Friday is to 2006 – the year we became Beirne Cup champions. This historic triumph marked a momentous chapter in College history, breaking a drought that stretched all the way back to 1972. It was more than just a win – it was a story of passion and pride. It was a triumph that left a lasting mark on our community.

⚡FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡| This week’s Flashback Friday is to 1996. Despite a cold and drizzly Saturday morning in August, four spirited Tournament of the Minds teams gathered at MSM, ready to rise to the challenge of this engaging and demanding competition. Laden with props, costumes, backdrops, chairs, and eskies, the teams brought energy and enthusiasm to the day. Their efforts truly paid off when the MSM Maths/Engineering team took home the award for creativity. Every student performed exceptionally and represented MSM with pride.

⚡FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡| This week’s Flashback Friday is to 2006. The College music groups proudly participated in the Queensland Catholic Schools’ Music Festival (QCMF), bringing home an impressive collection of awards! These included Gold for our String Ensemble, silver for Stage Band and College Choir, with Bronze awards for Year 8 Choir, Guitar Ensemble and Flute Ensemble. Our current students are preparing to take the stage at QCMF once again. We wish them all the very best next week as they continue our tradition of musical excellence!

⚡FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡| Today’s Flashback Friday is 2016’s Mary Aikenhead Day! In true MSM spirit, our community came together to honour the life and legacy of Venerable Mary Aikenhead, foundress of the Sisters of Charity. A day filled with reflection, celebration, and unity — reminding us of the values that continue to shape our journey as people of charity.

The MSM community proudly congratulates MSM Alumni, Meg Harris (Class of 2019), on her incredible gold medal performance in the Women’s 100m Freestyle Final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. In true Meg style, she was humble in victory, celebrating not only her own success but also the achievements of her Australian Dolphins teammates who stood alongside her on the podium.

⚡FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡| This week’s Flashback Friday is to 1986. After months of rigorous training, a dedicated group of students travelled to the Inter-School Athletics Carnival. MSM came fifth in the Percentage Cup, a new trophy awarded based on the total points earned by a school, adjusted for its student size. It was an enjoyable day with the athlete’s given encouragement from the MSM community.

⚡FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡| This week’s Flashback Friday is to 1976. These Year 8 students are giving their complete attention to the mastery of the technicalities during a singing lesson. At the Term 3 concert these students provided the opening item – a group of folksongs in Esperanto, German and French.

⚡FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡| Today’s Flashback Friday is to 2016 to the Spirit of the Arts Festival “Bold”. The evening came alive with vibrant visual art displays and energetic dance, drama and music performances. The MSM Community soaked up the atmosphere of this wonderful event.
