Our children were so excited to discover a witchetty grub near the mud kitchen, quickly naming him Bumpy, while also observing Larry the lizard, another fascinating discovery. Together, the children shared their ideas, drew pictures and researched these creatures, learning about nature, First Nations knowledge and our connection to the natural environment. #

Science Week Fun in Kindergarten 2!
The children in Kindergarten 2 at Prince Charles Early Education Centre have been excited to kick off Science Week with a week full of hands-on experiments and discovery.
Throughout the week, the children explored a range of exciting science experiences, including creating a volcano eruption, investigating how a balloon rocket works, and taking part in a rocket launch experiment using bicarbonate soda and vinegar.
The children were actively involved in making predictions, observing what happened, asking questions, and sharing their ideas with their friends and educators. There were plenty of smiles, excitement, and even a few experiments that did not go quite as planned—which gave the children an opportunity to think about why and try again.
All of the children who participated had a wonderful time while developing their curiosity, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and understanding of cause and effect through fun, hands-on learning.
It has been a fantastic start to Science Week, and we are so proud of our young scientists for their enthusiasm and eagerness to explore how things work.
