Rainy days brought plenty of creativity to our children at PA Hospital Early Education!
While spending time indoors this week, our children explored process art, connecting with friends, expressing themselves, and developing important skills through creative experiences.
Using earthy tones inspired by nature, the children also explored the colours of the Aboriginal Flag and learned about its meaning and connection to Country.
Learning, creativity, and curiosity continue to thrive—rain or shine! ☀️💛

What started as a simple dress-up experience quickly turned into a wonderful social adventure. The children worked together to build a structure, shared ideas, negotiated roles, and used their imaginations to create their own story.
Through spontaneous play, children develop communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence as they learn from one another.
It's always amazing to see where children's creativity takes them! 💛

Nature Provocations at PA Hospital Early Education Centre. 🍃🌿
Our children were invited to explore a variety of natural materials through open-ended provocations. Using leaves, seed pods, flowers, branches, paint, and loose parts, they investigated textures, patterns, colours, and creative possibilities.
These hands-on experiences encourage curiosity, imagination, problem-solving, and meaningful connections with the natural world. There was no right or wrong way to explore—just opportunities to discover, create, and learn through play.

🌱🥕 Growing, Learning and Caring at PA Hospital Early Education Centre! 🌿
Our Kindergarten children are excited to watch our vegetable and herb garden grow. Through watering, caring for plants, and observing changes over time, children are developing an understanding of where food comes from and the journey from seed to plate.
Gardening provides wonderful hands-on, play-based learning opportunities that support children's understanding of sustainability, nutrition, responsibility, and patience.
A special thank you to Alexis, James, and Jack for helping care for our garden and ensuring our plants have plenty of water to thrive! 🌱💚

Can you believe we are halfway through our Veggie Fun Program for 2026? 🙌Our Veggie Fun Program runs for 10 months of the year, giving the QCCS Kindergarten Children real-world experience of our farm to plate approach to food & nutrition. By learning, planting, growing, harvesting and cooking our featured vegetables, children develop an understanding of food systems, as well as confidence in the kitchen.
This month our feature vegetable is beetroot! Loved on burgers in Australia, this nutrient rich vegetable will be whipped up into a creamy beetroot dip by our kindergarten children. Don’t forget to ask about the fun facts they have learned, they will love to share their new knowledge with you.

Inspired by The Race to the Beach, our children engaged in a sensory beach investigation, exploring sand, shells, sea creatures, and natural treasures. Through hands-on play, they developed curiosity, language skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Learning comes alive when children can explore, discover, and imagine! 💙

🥤🍓 Smoothie Time at PA Hospital Early Education! 🍌🥭
A big thank you to Miss Sarah for taking the time to teach our children how to make delicious and healthy smoothies.
Our children enjoyed a hands-on experience as they chopped, cut, sliced, mixed, and stirred a variety of fresh ingredients. Along the way, they explored new smells, textures, and vocabulary—and of course, their favourite part was tasting their creations! 😋
Learning through food preparation helps children build confidence, develop fine motor skills, and encourages healthy eating habits in a fun and engaging way.
Thank you, Miss Sarah, for such a wonderful experience! 💛
