Good afternoon year 5 and 6 touch football parents, the bus is running approximately 20 minutes late. We expect them to arrive at approximately 3:15pm.

* Year 5 and 6 Gala Day is tomorrow.
* Students meet teachers in courtyard in front of office @ 8:30am.
* Buses leave 8:45am. We cannot wait for latecomers.
What to bring:
* Water bottle, morning tea and lunch.
* School uniform and enclosed shoes.
* Hat and sunscreen.

*** Netball girls - to keep everyone safe, please ensure fingernails are trimmed, and jewellery is removed for games.

A huge congratulations to Year 5 student, Lucas, who proudly represented Virginia State School as a member of the Metropolitan North Cross Country Team at the School State Cross Country Championships recently.

As our school's sole competitor, Lucas did us proud, achieving a personal best time of 10:46 in the 3-kilometre event. He also played a key role in helping the Metropolitan North relay team secure a bronze medal.

We are incredibly proud of his efforts and the way he represented both our school and region. Well done, Lucas!

Students and staff proudly wore their brightest shirts to support Loud Shirt Day and raise funds for Camp Quality.
Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised $323 to help Camp Quality continue supporting children facing cancer and their families.

Camp Quality brought plenty of laughs and important life lessons to our school earlier this week.

Students from Years 1–6 enjoyed an engaging puppet performance that explored empathy, kindness, resilience, and supporting others through challenging times.

Thank you, Camp Quality, for sharing such a meaningful and memorable experience with our students.

At Virginia State School, we are proud of all our students and work to support them to meet our school values of we are safe, we show respect and we are learners. We aim to consistently uphold these expectations, and work with students and their families to understand them, teach better choices and provide consequences to help all students move forward.

At VSS we have wonderful, funny, kind and sometimes imperfect children who are learning to regulate emotions, resolve conflicts, and make responsible decisions. We teach them that choices have consequences and are opportunities to learn. We will continue to support our staff and students to work together to ensure Virginia remains a great school where everyone feels like they belong – Many learners One Spirit.
