END OF SEMESTER INSTALL @ BIA
With the End of Semester exhibition ‘Murmuration’ opening at 6pm this Friday evening, all of our students are excited to be putting their works up for display. This is the culmination of the last 18 weeks of learning, experimentation and creativity. We hope you can all come along and join us in celebrating this wonderful event. Many of the works will also be for sale 🎨

Here is your invitation to ‘Murmuration’ - the BIA End of Semester 1 Exhibition 2026.
You are most welcome to pass it on to family and friends. Opening night entry is free.
The exhibition opens at 6:00pm on Friday 26 June and features hundreds of pieces produced by students during the semester. We hope you will have time to attend the opening night or view the show over the weekend or during the week. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the full range of art activities on offer at BIA. The week long exhibition is of short duration to allow for the beginning of our exciting program of Winter art workshops. Semester 2 then commences from Saturday 18 July 🎨

END OF SEMESTER @ BIA
We are approaching the final weeks of Semester 1, which will culminate in our End of Semester Exhibition. Selected works created by all of our students during the past 18 weeks, will be on display throughout the galleries downstairs and all the studios upstairs. The exhibition is opening on Friday 26 June at 6pm and will continue over the weekend until Friday 3 July. If you have been thinking of joining one of our courses, this is a great opportunity to see the inspiring work being created in our classes. Gallery hours are 10am to 4pm including the opening weekend 🎨

SEMESTER 2 @ BIA
Semester 2 Classes are now open for enrollments. Classes commencing from 18 July.
If you would like to split the payment of semester fees into two installments, half now and then pay the balance by Friday 17 July, come in and see us or contact the office on 3857 5377.

WINTER & SEMESTER 2 @ BIA

The full program of Winter Art Courses is now online. There are workshops across a broad range of art media designed for both beginners and those with more experience. There are both Mid-week and Weekend Workshops on offer including painting, printmaking, jewellery making, drawing and ceramics. The Children’s Holiday Workshops commence from Thursday 2 July.
Please enrol early to guarantee that you get a place in your class of first choice.

STAFF & TUTORS @ BIA
We are excited to give you an update on the wonderful BIA Staff and Tutors exhibition ARTWORK 2026. It has been extended till Friday 12 June. Gallery hours are 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Closed on weekends.

Installation is underway for Art Work, an exhibition featuring work by BIA staff and tutors. We’d love for you to join us for the opening tomorrow night, Friday 15 May at 6pm.

TUTORS & STAFF @ BIA
We hope you can join us for the opening of ART WORK , an exhibition by Brisbane Institute of Art tutors and staff. Opening 6pm Friday 15 May and continuing until Tuesday 27 May. Open daily 10am to 3.30pm except weekends.

MEMBERS EXHIBITION @ BIA
A wonderful night was had at BIA last Friday for the opening of the 2026 Members Exhibition. Over 60 works are on display covering all mediums from drawing, printmaking, photography and painting to ceramics, sculpture, jewellery and enamelling. The Exhibitors’ Prize whose work received the most votes on the night was awarded to Mary Mulherin for her painting ‘Ringarooma River, Tasmania’. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm until Monday 11 May.

MEMBERS EXHIBITION @ BIA
Here is your invitation to the BIA Members’ Exhibition 2026, a wonderfully diverse collection of works by more than 50 BIA members.
Opening at BIA Friday 1 May at 6:30pm following the AGM.
The exhibition continues until Monday 11 May.

The exhibition is an opportunity for BIA members to celebrate their association with the institute along with their fellow practising artists. Gallery visitors can expect to see works in a broad range of media including: drawings, paintings, prints, photography, ceramics and sculpture. This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase an artwork at a very reasonable price as sales have no commission with sales conducted directly between the artist and purchaser.

A $250 ‘Exhibitors’ Prize will be awarded to the artist whose work receives the most votes in a secret ballot on the opening night. Voting is open to everyone, including participating members in the show. People will be invited to vote for their choice of the 3 best works in the show, and the winning artist will be awarded the prize on the night. We hope to see you all there !
