Book Week is almost here!

Book Week is a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the joy of books and help children discover the magic that comes from reading, sharing stories and using their imaginations. From favourite characters and familiar stories to new adventures, there will be plenty of opportunities for our little learners to explore language, build their vocabulary and develop a lifelong love of literacy.

Here’s to a magical week ahead 💫

Celebrating Miss Ila 💕

We loved celebrating with Miss Ila as she prepares for her upcoming wedding. It was such a special opportunity to celebrate this exciting time with her and wish her all the happiness as she begins this beautiful new chapter.

We were so lucky to welcome Bec from Pinata Farm, for an amazing hands-on learning experience for our children!

Bec taught the children all about the life cycle of strawberries and pineapples, helping them discover what these delicious fruits need to grow. Afterwards, the children made their own fruit skewers to enjoy!

A huge thank you to Bec and Pinata Farm for sharing your knowledge, time and passion with our children, and for generously donating all the fruit for this wonderful learning experience.

What a fantastic way to connect children with where their food comes from and inspire a love of growing, learning and healthy eating! 🍓🍍

Tiffany, the miniature horse, paid a special visit to Habitat today!

The children loved getting to know Tiffany and learning all about the ways to care for her, from grooming and feeding to making sure she is happy and healthy. Tiffany even showed off some of her tricks!

It was also 'Dress Like a Farmer Day', making Tiffany’s visit the perfect addition to our Habitat Harvest curriculum event ✨

We made butter!

The children explored where our milk comes from and learned about dairy farming and how milk makes its way from the farm to our table.
The children then enjoyed using a marble to shake cream, watching with excitement as it transformed into butter!

It was science and cooking all in one experience, giving the children the opportunity to explore cause and effect, make observations, and discover how a simple ingredient can change through movement.

Of course, the best part was tasting our creation! The children enjoyed their freshly made butter spread on crackers 🧈

In Studio 3, Miss Swe has been presenting Montessori literacy lessons using the Sandpaper Letters. Through this hands-on lesson, children were guided to name pictures, identify the beginning phonetic sound of each word, and match the picture to the corresponding Sandpaper Letter sound.

This process supports children to develop a strong connection between sounds and symbols, laying the foundations to become confident readers and writers.

It’s Dental Health Week, a perfect time for the dentist to visit for a check up!

Building healthy habits from a young age, like regular check-ups and brushing twice a day, helps create healthy smiles for life.

Thank you to Delivering Dental and Nurse Katie for organising 🦷
