Be Kind to Animals Week is here! 🐾

We’re excited to celebrate the special animals in our lives and spend a whole week learning about the many ways we can show kindness, care, and respect towards our furry, feathered, and scaly friends.

Throughout the week, we’ll be exploring how we can be responsible pet owners, understand animal needs, and make sure our pets feel safe, happy, and loved.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful week filled with special pet visits, where we can share our love for animals, as well as an exciting RSPCA QLD incursion where we’ll learn more about caring for animals and how we can help make a difference.

Get ready for a 'pawsome' week of learning, kindness, and celebrating the amazing animals that bring so much joy to our lives!

Next week we will be celebrating Be Kind to Animals Week! 🐾

We are looking forward to a week filled with opportunities for our children to develop empathy, kindness, and respect for all living creatures.

We are so excited to welcome our furry family members for a special Show and Share experience, where children can proudly introduce their pets and share stories about their animal companions. We are also looking forward to a special visit from the RSPCA, where children will learn more about animal care, safety, and how we can show kindness and compassion towards animals.

We can’t wait to see the children’s curiosity, connections, and love for our animal friends shine throughout this special week!

As part of the Studio 2 curriculum, the children explored the process of making honey sandwiches while developing a deeper understanding of where honey comes from.

Prior to the activity, Miss Izzy shared photographs of her native bee hive at home, providing the children with an opportunity to learn about the life cycle of bees and the process involved in producing honey. Through discussion and observation, the children explored the important role bees play in our environment and how honey is created.

The children then participated in preparing their own honey sandwiches, engaging in hands-on learning that supported their confidence, independence, and understanding of food preparation. This experience encouraged meaningful connections between nature, sustainability, and everyday experiences.

Yesterday, our children enjoyed an excursion to the park for Lunchbox Day.

The children shared a picnic together, enjoying their lunch outdoors while developing important social and independence skills. We talked about how mealtimes can look at school and the connections between enjoying lunch together at kindy and preparing for the routines they will experience when they begin school.

Our Lunchbox Day excursion was a wonderful way to make the transition to school feel familiar, meaningful and enjoyable, while creating special memories together.

As part of our Healthy Habits program, we have created our very own Habitat Hospital! 🏥

The children have been loving the opportunity to step into the roles of doctors and nurses, using their imagination as they care for their patients. Through role play, they are developing their understanding of caring for others, practising communication and cooperation, and building confidence as they explore the world of healthcare.

It has been wonderful to see the children showing kindness, empathy and genuine care as they check on their patients, provide treatment and make sure everyone is feeling their best.

Our Habitat Hospital is a fun and meaningful way for children to learn about healthy habits while developing important social and emotional skills through play.
