🌱 Growing Curious Minds in Pre-Kindergarten 🌱
Our Pre-Kindergarten children have been continuing their exploration of the life cycle of a bean sprout, and they were so excited to see just how much their sprouts have grown!
Through hands-on learning, the children observed the changes that occurred as their tiny beans transformed into growing plants. They carefully examined the different stages of growth and used their creativity and observation skills to draw what they could see, documenting each stage of the bean sprout's journey.
This learning experience encouraged scientific thinking, patience, and an understanding of how living things grow and change over time. It was wonderful to hear the children sharing their predictions, observations, and discoveries with their friends.
We can't wait to continue watching our bean sprouts grow and see what the children discover next! 🌿✨

🦜 An Unexpected Visitor! 🦜
Today, our children were treated to a very special surprise when an African Grey Parrot flew into our playground!
The children were fascinated as they watched our feathered visitor from a safe distance, asking lots of questions and showing great care and curiosity. It became a wonderful opportunity to talk about animals, kindness, and helping those in need.
After ensuring the parrot was safe and comfortable, we were able to take it to our local vet clinic, where staff helped identify its owner. We are thrilled to share that this beautiful bird has now been safely reunited with its family. ❤️
A big thank you to our local vet team for their support and care. What started as an unexpected adventure turned into a heartwarming reminder of the importance of community and looking after one another—whether they have two legs or two wings! 🐦💚

💛 Little Climbers, Big Achievements! 💛
Our babies have been busy developing their gross motor skills through active play with our soft foam climbing blocks.
As they crawl, climb, balance, and explore, they are building strength, coordination, confidence, and body awareness in a safe and supportive environment. Every reach, step, and climb is an important milestone that helps lay the foundation for future physical development.
It has been wonderful to watch our little learners challenge themselves, persevere through new experiences, and celebrate their achievements with big smiles along the way!
At Goodstart Calamvale 1, we know that play is one of the most powerful ways children learn, grow, and develop confidence in their abilities. 🌟

❤️Our Sea of Hearts
During National Reconciliation Week, our children, families, and educators came together to create a beautiful Sea of Hearts display, reflecting this year's theme, "All In for Reconciliation."
Each heart was uniquely decorated with love, creativity, and care, representing our shared commitment to building respectful relationships and honouring the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who participated and helped make this display so meaningful. Together, we have created something truly special that reflects the strength of our community and our ongoing journey towards reconciliation.
If you're passing by, we invite you to stop and take a moment to view our Sea of Hearts displayed at the front of the centre. We are incredibly proud of what our children and families have created together. ❤️

🐄🐖🚜 Old MacDonald Had a Farm! 🚜🐖🐄
E-I-E-I-O! 🎶
Our toddlers had a wonderful time exploring farm animals while singing along to the much-loved song Old MacDonald Had a Farm. Through hands-on play, the children used their imaginations to create their own farm adventures, making animal sounds, matching animals, and engaging in conversations about life on the farm.
Experiences like these help children develop language skills, build confidence in communication, and encourage imaginative play while having lots of fun with their friends.
There were plenty of moo's, oink's, baa's, and giggles as our little farmers explored and learned together! 🌾🐑🐓

🌧️🌿 Wet Wednesday Wonders 🌿🌧️
Today, one of our little explorers paused to admire something special in our garden a beautiful flower blooming on our citrus plant, covered in sparkling raindrops.
Moments like these remind us that some of the most meaningful learning experiences happen when children slow down, observe, and connect with nature. The rain gave our garden a fresh new look, creating the perfect opportunity for children to explore, wonder, and discover the changes happening around them.
Through simple moments of observation, children develop curiosity, appreciation for the natural world, and a sense of awe for the little things that often go unnoticed.
What a beautiful way to spend a wet Wednesday. 🍋💛

🐞🔍 Bug Hunters at Work! 🔍🐞
Today our little learners explored the wonderful world of bugs! We began by reading a story all about insects and the important role they play in nature. The children were full of curiosity as they shared what they already knew and discovered new facts together. 📚✨
After our story, the adventure continued as the children grabbed their magnifying glasses and headed out around the centre to search for bugs in our outdoor environment! 🐜🦋
The children carefully explored gardens, trees, and grassy areas, using their observation skills to spot tiny creatures hiding around us. There were lots of excited discoveries, conversations, and opportunities to learn about the natural world through hands-on play. 🌿
Experiences like these encourage curiosity, investigation, and a love of learning while helping children build confidence and respect for nature. 💚

🧊🐾 Ice Rescue Mission! 🐾🧊
Today our children became little problem-solvers and explorers during a fun sensory experience! The children discovered toy animals trapped inside blocks of ice and worked together to free them using small hammers and tools. 🔨✨
The children were excited to investigate different ways to break and melt the ice, using teamwork, persistence, and critical thinking throughout the experience. There were lots of conversations about how ice feels, why it melts, and how we could rescue the animals safely. 🐻❄️
Experiences like these support children’s fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and early scientific thinking — all while having so much fun! 💙
We loved seeing the children so engaged, curious, and proud of their rescue efforts today! 🐧🐘🐒

Today's art session took a beautiful turn when the children discovered that rosemary from our garden makes the most wonderful paintbrush! 🌿🎨 Watching their faces light up as they dipped the fragrant sprigs into paint and created textured masterpieces was pure magic. The whole room smelled amazing, and they loved how each stroke left delicate patterns on the paper. It's these simple, sensory moments that remind us how nature can spark creativity in the most unexpected ways. Who knew our little herb garden would become an art supply cupboard? 💚
