These Concordia Lutheran College (Official) students had an opportunity to take their Technology and Agribusiness skills with a brilliant idea coming to fruit-ion! 🥝🍓🥭🍉

Students turned discarded produce into delicious products for sale at a Farm Fresh Market Stall. At the Stall, students engaged with members of the community, helping them to make a purchase and raising awareness around food waste and food insecurity.

🏃‍♂️‍➡️ LUTHERAN ATHLETICS 🏃
Last month, Lutheran Ormeau Rivers District School (LORDS) Junior School travelled to the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC) to participate in the annual Lutheran Athletics Carnival.

The Carnival brings together nine Lutheran schools from across south-east Queensland to come together, compete, support one another, and get athletic across all different kinds of sports 👟🏃‍♀️ A sporting experience unique to our Lutheran learning community across Queensland.

For many of the students, it was their first time competing on a proper athletics track, making the experience even more exciting and memorable.

It's fantastic to see our students representing their schools with enthusiasm, determination and pride. ❤️ Well done to all students who participated!

Book Week in our LEQ learning communities has meant we've seen characters step straight off the page and into our classrooms 📖✨

Literacy is the foundation for children's learning and communication, and a good book is an important tool in literacy development for children and young people.

The more books at home, in school, and available out in community places means more children have more opportunities to read and practice literacy skills, storytelling, and creative thinking. Through books, we also discover stories that inspire us.

After all, as renowned author and screenwriter Neil Gaiman once said, "A book is a dream you hold in your hands." 📖✨ Happy Book Week!

👀 They watched carefully from the windows, looking for familiar landmarks.

Then came a magical moment...
Walking into the Wondai Art Gallery and discovering their very own artwork hanging on the walls! 🤩

Our LEQ Office staff were visited by Year 10 students from St Peters Lutheran College as part of their Abyss Challenge, designed to help build self-reliance, decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Students travelled in small teams into Brisbane's C*D, using public transport and maps to navigate around the city, touching base with College staff at a series of checkpoints. Milton Churchhouse and the LEQ Office was a checkpoint along the way - a welcome one with aircon and snacks on what turned out to be a very warm spring day!

For our LEQ Office team, it was a wonderful reminder of the purpose our everyday work holds. What we do in the central support office fuels schools and services to carry out their work supporting children and young people in the classroom and beyond.

Over 140 educators and school leaders joined us at Redeemer Lutheran College for this one-day-only event. A BIG thank you goes to our event partners Future Anything and Redeemer Lutheran College, the speakers who came from all over Queensland to share their knowledge and expertise with us, and every attendee.

This week is National Child Protection Week, and we're reaffirming our commitment to fostering safe, nurturing environments where every child can flourish 🌼

As part of our commitment to child safety, we are:

At LEQ, we feel strongly that every action, big or small, contributes to a safe future for children. This year's theme, 'Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action', reminds us that keeping children and young people safe is something each and every one of us is responsible for.
