Working hand in hand with urban design, it helps create the vision for our future communities by balancing competing interests, coordinating land use and infrastructure, and designing places that are sustainable, functional, and enjoyable to live in.

Are you studying town planning and looking to gain real-world experience in local government?

Our Student Work Experience Program offers the opportunity to work alongside planning professionals within Planning and Regulatory Services, including the Development Planning and City Design branches.

Through the program, you’ll:
✔ Gain hands-on experience in urban and regional planning
✔ Contribute to meaningful local projects
✔ Develop practical skills to support your future career
✔ Experience different areas of council through our rotation model

How to apply:

📄 Prepare a current resume outlining your education, skills and relevant experience
