Intergenerational Learning Program - Bowen Hills Montessori Children's House.

Throughout this term, the Kindy children and Grandfriends at Newstead Grand Care worked together to design and create a sustainable piece of art. The following narrative guided their exploration and inspired the development of this community project.
The large bottle tops represent our Grandfriends and grandparents, while the next-sized bottle tops symbolise our parents. Smaller bottle tops signify aunts, uncles, siblings, and family friends, and the smallest bottle tops represent the children.
Together, these individual pieces come together to form a larger whole, representing our community. This artwork celebrates the many different family structures and relationships that make up our community, highlighting the connections, diversity, and sense of belonging that unite us all.

We encourage you to bid on this special piece of artwork, with all proceeds going to the Newstead Grand Care Wishing Well.
The Wishing Well helps make our Grandfriends’ cherished wishes a reality, creating meaningful experiences and lasting memories. Whether it’s attending the ballet, watching a football match, or enjoying another special outing, your support helps bring joy and fulfilment to the lives of our Grandfriends.
Thank you for helping us make wishes come true.

Final bid date is the 10th of July.

Safety First, Sustainability Always!
Our Koala children at Norman Park take on important responsibilities each day by completing both our Safety Checklist and Sustainability Checklist.
From checking that our learning environments are safe and ready for play, to turning off lights, caring for our gardens, recycling and reducing waste, the children play an active role in helping to look after both their friends and the world around them.
These daily routines help build confidence, responsibility, leadership skills and an understanding that even small actions can make a big difference.
We are so proud of our Koalas for being safety champions and sustainability leaders every day!

Avenues Kimbereley Park are incredibly honoured to be selected for this year's South East Region NAIDOC Showcase.

This event celebrates the many ways schools, early learning centres, and community services embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into their everyday practice.

The event is judged by panels from the Department of Education’s Indigenous Unit alongside regional First Nations community leaders, artists and elders.

We'd love for you to stop by our exhibition stand at Beenleigh State Highschool. Your support means the world to us, and we're sure the children will be so excited to see their learning on display.

The team from Sunnybank Montessori had a wonderful night out thanks to Avenues, we were all immersed in a beautiful Japanese cultural experience 🎉 Our team ventured into Brisbane city for an evening of Teppanyaki at the Kabuki Restuarant.

Kabuki Teppanyaki is a highly interactive, theatrical Japanese dining experience where skilled chefs prepare premium meats, seafood, and vegetables on a hot flat iron grill (teppan) right in front of you.

There were laughs, catching of bowls, eggs and rice, all while enjoying the meals prepared in front of us with wonderful interaction from the entertaining chefs and our team getting out their competitive spirit!

Definitely a night to remember!!

Thank you Avenues for allowing us to continue to connect and come together as a team.

The children at Norman Park became little environmental heroes as they explored sustainability through nature play, gardening, recycling and getting wonderfully dirty while connecting with the natural elements around them. From digging in the soil to exploring plants and outdoor environments, children discovered that caring for our planet starts with building a love for nature.
Together, we're learning to love, respect and protect the world around us.

Our Avenues Runcorn Heights children, families, and educators had a wonderful time attending the Dragon Boat Festival on Sunday, continuing the cultural learning that began through our Mandarin program with Miss Ling.

It was fantastic to see children making connections between their learning at the service and their real-world experiences as they watched exciting dragon boat races, enjoyed multicultural performances and activities, and celebrated the traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival alongside the wider community.

At Avenues Runcorn Heights, we believe meaningful learning happens both within and beyond our service. Opportunities like these help children develop an appreciation for diversity, build a sense of belonging, and deepen their understanding of different cultures and traditions.

A big thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make this community event such a special experience. We look forward to creating many more opportunities for our children and families to learn, connect, and celebrate together.

Avenues Montessori Children’s House - Bowen Hills

This month, we would like to recognise and celebrate the incredible commitment, professionalism, and care demonstrated by our Lillypilly team. Guided by the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics, particularly our commitment to respectful and collaborative relationships with colleagues, the team has worked together to create a positive, supportive, and reflective learning community. Through ongoing reflective practice, educators have thoughtfully considered how their actions and decisions support the wellbeing, learning, and inclusion of every child and family.
The Lillypilly team has warmly welcomed new children and families into our service, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and a true sense of belonging from their very first day. Their dedication to building trusting relationships reflects our commitment to responsive and ethical practice.
We also acknowledge the team's outstanding efforts in supporting the diverse needs of our community of children and families. Through genuine partnerships, open communication, and a deep understanding of each family's unique circumstances, they continue to foster an inclusive and nurturing environment.
A special thank you goes to the team for their enthusiasm and commitment to our Intergenerational Program this term. By creating meaningful connections between children and older community members, they have enriched learning experiences, strengthened community relationships, and promoted respect, empathy, and belonging across generations.
Thank you, Lillypilly team, for embodying the values of collaboration, reflection, inclusion, and community. Your dedication makes a lasting difference in the lives of children, families, colleagues, and our wider community every day.
Thank you Jhon, Patricia, Jennifer, Grishma and Nathalee
