QUT FOCUS

FOCUS is a community for international students to make friends and meet Jesus. All international students are welcome - from any culture or belief.

Our community meets weekly during semester and also hosts other events through the year such as daytrips, culture nights, picnics and weekend retreats. We want all international students to feel welcomed and supported, to make good friends and enjoy their time in Brisbane! Our weekly meeting is in Kelvin Grove on Friday nights - dinner, fun, hear a Bible story, make some new international and Aussie friends. All welcome - whether you have a faith background or not. There are many other opportunities for people to gather together, to encourage each other, explore the Bible and pray. FOCUS is an activity of QUT Christians (a Guild-affiliated club on campus).

Who are we?

FOCUS is a community for international students to make friends and meet Jesus. We meet regularly at QUT (in Brisbane) at both Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses. 🌳

We are about…
…making friends 👋
We love meeting people from all different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. All are welcome to join us! We hope that we can be a space for international students to connect and make friends (and maybe bond over food, culture, funny moments, shared experiences 😋). We also hope to be a community that cares for one another and encourages one another.

…helping people meet Jesus 📖
We think Jesus is the greatest person anyone can meet! When we gather throughout the week we learn more about Jesus - who he is, and why the good news about Jesus is life-changing. You don’t have to know anything about Jesus or be a Christian to join our gatherings. If you already know Jesus, we hope you can learn and grow in knowing Jesus more with us 🤗

Whoever you are, we hope that you will feel welcome in our FOCUS community.
