Hi all

I’ve had a number of people ask about doing in home visits for haircuts.

I’m just wondering if anyone else would be interested in this?

We are now all done and dusted at the shop and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came through and supported the shop, both at Graceville and East Brisbane.

It has been a very busy time from the closure, the shop getting broken into, along with general life stress!

Lion & Cub had 6 great years in business, along with some ups and downs. We’ve met some genuinely great people and established some amazing relationships. That time went very quickly.

We met men who were single, but who are now married and/or have kids.

Toddlers who had their first cut but are now well into primarily school.

School boys who graduated high school are now well into Uni/graduated Uni.

Men who opened up about their unfortunate circumstances.

Fathers who became Grandfathers.

All along with some great Mothers and partners, of all ages, along the way.

We very much enjoyed our time in the shop and getting to know our customers over the years. We have learnt so much from you all, everything from recommendations, advice, help and life hacks!

I even had as an apprentice who developed into an exceptional barber. His professional boxing career is well under way and we wish him all the best.

I’m now taking a short moment to decompress, but I hope to share news on what’s next very soon.

In conclusion, thank you for visiting us and sticking with us. It’s been our pleasure.

Today I have the unfortunate job of letting you know that Lion & Cub Barbershop is closing and our final day will be Saturday, August 24.

Our lease will be up shortly and with uncertainty around my shoulder pain and other personal issues, i’ve decided to call it a day.

I’m unsure what the immediate future is regarding barbering, however I dare say that I’ll be cutting somewhere in some capacity that is manageable - stay tuned.

Big thanks to Xavier who has been with me for most my time at Graceville. His boxing career is well on its way, so be sure to follow his journey as well.

We would like to thank all our clients for their ongoing support throughout our 6 years of trading. Thank you for entrusting us with your hair!

We will try to accommodate as many clients as possible in our remaining 2 weeks. Please feel free to contact us with any queries, but have patience as we’re quite busy but we will respond.

Once again, thank you for supporting the shop!

From next week - online booking will be available up to 7 days in advance. Jamie will be limiting his hours and clients due to managing his shoulder injury, however Xavier will be available as usual. Thanks again for your support.

PSA - June Update/Info

- Online booking will temporarily be only available 48 hours in advance.

- Jamie will be limiting his clients and appointments due managing his shoulder injury.

- Online appointments for Xavier remain the same to assist manage the load.

- If you would like to make an appointment in advance, you can sent a text or DM - This is only available in certain circumstances and is not guaranteed.

- Jamie will unlikely be available this week beginning 3.6.24. However, check online availability as this may change.

Quick notice to let you know that we are taking a short break.

We’ll be closed and away from March 21 to April 2.

If you’re in need of a trim, we’ve got a few spots left before then and we might have some cancellations last minute.

That’s a wrap on 2023 for Lion & Cub Barbershop. Thanks to everyone that has come through and sat on these chairs this past year. We appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to seeing you all again next year.

We will be taking a break next week to rest and spend time with family. Then from Jan 3 we will have limited availability for that week.

I would also like to thank both Xavier and Jake for their work in the shop. I’m fortunate to have a great team that produce exceptional work and help me out in many ways.

On behalf of Xavier, Jake and myself, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Take care and enjoy some downtime. We certainly will be!
