40,837 STEM engagements. Now THAT was a National Science Week campaign!

Across our 2026 National Science Week campaign, the Street Science team travelled across Australia bringing Seriously FUN Science to thousands of students through live shows, hands on workshops and our brand new National Science Week experience.

Together, by the end of our 2026 National Science Week campaign, we will have:

> Reached 40,837 students
> Visited 119 schools
> Delivered 175 science shows
> Ran 118 hands-on workshops

They're big numbers, and we're incredibly proud of them. But behind every one is a student who had the opportunity to experience science differently. To ask questions, get involved, see something unexpected and hopefully walk away a little more curious about how the world works.

A massive thank you to every school and educator who welcomed us, and to our incredible team of science communicators who travelled, presented, packed, unpacked and brought the energy day after day.

National Science Week is always one of our favourite times of the year, and 2026 was a big one. 🚀

We’re looking for our next Science Communicator!

Are you confident in front of a crowd, great with kids and genuinely curious about how the world works?

We’re growing our presenter team and looking for someone who can bring energy, enthusiasm and Seriously FUN Science to schools and communities across Australia.

This is a full time role based from our Hendra HQ, delivering hands on science shows and workshops, with opportunities to travel to regional and interstate communities along the way.

We’re looking for someone who can connect with students, hold a room and make science exciting, accessible and memorable.

What an awesome event! A huge thank you to Naomi Fowler, Division 2, Gold Coast for sponsoring the day and helping make this experience possible for local families. We loved seeing a full house and so many smiling faces. As always, Dr Shaz had a fantastic time sharing the wonder of science with so many curious minds.

Behind every Street Science National Science Week show is a team of people spending hours testing experiments, learning scripts, making tweaks, and figuring out how to make the science as fun and engaging as possible.

Yesterday was our full show training day, and seeing Emma the Emgineer and Professor Gelly (Gelson) finally share the show they've spent months creating was pretty special. Alongside their trusty sidekick, Cosmo the Astronaut Bear, they've built something that is seriously fun, highly engaging, and packed with the kind of science moments students will be talking about long after the show is over.

We're incredibly lucky to work with a group of science communicators who genuinely love sharing science with students.

National Science Week is our favourite time of year, and the countdown is officially on. We can't wait to hit the road next term and share this one with schools. We have a feeling it's going to be a good one. 🚀
