So much on offer in the HERRD kids portal. Jillina has really put in a lot of work to bring opportunities available online to students, so they can access these programs no matter if they are city or rural.
Well done Jillina, we love seeing what is on each term.
Check the Homeschool Hotline to see more about what is available.
Do you love homeschooling but are looking for more supportive learning activities for your kids?
HERRD Kids Learning Portal brings fun and engaging interactive workshops into your home. Our online events mean your child doesn’t miss out on opportunities just because something isn’t available in your local area.
As Founder and Program Coordinator, I have done the hard work for you—connecting families with expert and specialist educators across a range of workshops including STEM, coding, creative writing, nature, art, music, cooking, LEGO, Book Clubs and more.
HERRD Kids has partnered with trusted organisations such as Story Factory, Code Club Australia, the University of Queensland, Australian Environmental Education, Sydney Opera House, My Financial Future, along with experienced music and art teachers.
Plus, our learning clubs are a relaxed way for kids to hang out, create, chat and enjoy activities alongside other homeschooling kids from around Australia.
Our new term starts in a week, so please reach out if you would love to join us. We have room for more families for Term 3. Let me know if you want a link or see bio.

We have completed our feedback, along with other community representatives. With a massive 17 page document, we had a lot to say on your behalf, intersecting the core values of home education and applied biases of the institutional views. We hope we represented you well and we hope that establishing these understandings builds for a more equitable grounding for home education into the future beyond our years.
Community consultation is about to begin! Get your name down ASAP.

How awesome does this look?!
I'm just venturing out and stopped in at the Cooper Plains library and this book was on display. Usborne books often have lots of great info for our home ed learning. I know I have borrowed and owned a few over my time!

A couple of weeks ago, Amanda & Patricia met with the Education Minister, Hon. JP Langbroek, and Ministerial staff, along with HEA members, to further discuss a WHOLE RANGE of points that have been ongoing concerns in the home education community.
We spent the time discussing how improvements could be made to some processes that build more equity for our community and other processes toward further understanding of what home education is, to respect parental choice and lessen the friction that current processes risk.
It has been great to meet again and have a chance to continue the discussions that were begun in last year's meeting to further next steps and then open discussion on other topics.
