Today, our Kindy classes had a visit from Camp Quality, and they participated in a puppet about Kylie and her friend Dean. They learned some important facts about cancer while building their empathy for others.
The Cancer Education Program, features the much-loved Camp Quality Puppets, delivers age-appropriate education that fosters empathy and understanding among children. By breaking down myths and encouraging open dialogue, the program helps children learn how to support their peers, creating a more compassionate environment.

To celebrate Reconciliation Week, the children revisited the Rainbow Serpent story and explored its meaning through a hands-on storytelling experience. They were introduced to story stones featuring key characters and events from the story, along with a sensory tray filled with natural loose parts such as stones, leaves, sticks, and bark.
With educator support, the children used the story stones and natural materials to retell the Rainbow Serpent story, recalling important parts of the narrative and discussing the characters and settings. As they manipulated the loose parts, they demonstrated creativity and imagination while making connections to the story.
Throughout the experience, the children remained highly engaged and worked collaboratively with their peers to recreate different scenes from the story. This activity supported their understanding of Aboriginal culture and storytelling traditions while encouraging language development, listening skills, and confidence in sharing their ideas.

🎈💧 Exploring Senses Through Water Balloons 💧🎈
Today, our Dibbil children explored water balloons using their senses to investigate what they could feel, hear and see.
They squeezed, rolled and shook the balloons, describing them as soft, squishy and smooth, listening to the water moving inside, and observing how the balloons changed shape when touched.
This simple sensory experience encouraged curiosity, descriptive language, scientific thinking and hands-on exploration as children discovered more about the world around them through play.
