πΏπΆββοΈ What better way to end the week than with a community walk! π
Our Nursery children wrapped up their week with a lovely walk around our local community. The children enjoyed getting out and about, taking in their surroundings, noticing the sights and sounds around them, and spending time together in the fresh air. π³π£
Community walks are such a wonderful opportunity for our little learners to build connections with their local environment, develop their confidence and curiosity, and discover the world beyond our centre.
There were lots of little smiles, pointing, waving and moments of wonder along the way! π₯°
What a beautiful way to finish the week, Nursery! πβ¨

ππ¬ Science Week in the Toddler Room! π¬π
Who knew science could be so colourful, messy and so much fun? Our toddlers have been exploring the wonderful world of sensory science through rainbow rice! πβ¨
With bright colours, scoops, bowls and funnels, the children investigated what happens when we scoop, pour, fill, empty, mix and transfer. Along the way, they were developing an understanding of colour, quantity, capacity and cause and effect. π₯£π«
π What happens when we mix two colours together?
π€ Which container can hold the most?
π What happens when we pour the rice from high up?
π Can we create a new colour?
Through hands-on exploration, our little scientists are building curiosity, making predictions, testing ideas and discovering how things work, all through play! π§ͺπ‘
Science Week is the perfect opportunity to wonder, explore and ask, βWhat happens ifβ¦?β ππ

πͺ **Little Bakers in the Making!** π©βπ³πΆβ¨
The Nursery children had a *very important* jobβ¦ making COOKIES! πͺπ
With Sarada, our little chefs gathered around the table and got stuck into the mixing, scooping, squishing and, of courseβ¦ a few very professional taste tests! π
Little hands explored all the different textures as the children used their big spoons and hands to mix the ingredients. Then came the best part, getting their hands into the dough and rolling it into little cookie balls! ππͺ
There were plenty of curious faces, big smiles and lots of squeezing and squishing. We think some of our cookies may have received extra love along the way! π
This hands-on experience supported the childrenβs fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sensory exploration, confidence and social interactions, all while having loads of fun together.
And the best part? They got to enjoy their delicious creations for afternoon tea! π₯°πͺ
Who knew learning could smell this good? π

π¦π¨ What an unforgettable adventure our toddlers had at Australia Zoo! ππ¦
Our little explorers had an amazing time discovering the incredible world of Australian wildlife. From spotting their favourite animals to watching them move, play and rest in their habitats, every moment sparked curiosity, excitement and lots of conversation.
Throughout the excursion, the children demonstrated confidence as they explored a new environment, practised road and community safety, and developed their independence by walking together with their educators and friends. They also strengthened their communication and social skills by sharing their observations, asking questions, and supporting one another throughout the day.
Experiences like these provide meaningful opportunities for children to connect with the world around them, build confidence, and create lasting memories through hands-on learning.
A huge thank you to our wonderful educators for making the day so special, and to our families for supporting these valuable learning experiences. π

π²π΄ Wheelie Day Fun! π΄π²
What an amazing Wheelie Day we had at Journey Early Learning Indooroopilly! π
Our car park was transformed into a safe riding track as the children zoomed around on their bikes and scooters with huge smiles on their faces. It was wonderful to see them building their confidence, practising their balance and coordination, and cheering on their friends along the way.
There was so much laughter, excitement, and teamwork as everyone took turns, followed the track, and enjoyed being active outdoors. Days like these are a fantastic way to encourage healthy movement while creating special memories together.
A big thank you to all of our wonderful families for bringing along bikes, scooters, helmets, and closed-in shoes to help make the day such a success. We can't wait for our next Wheelie Day adventure! π

π¨β»οΈ **Creative Fun with Recycled Materials!** β»οΈπ¨
Our little artists explored creativity and sustainability through a fun painting experience using recycled paper rolls! ππ
After putting on their smocks, the children eagerly dipped the paper rolls into a variety of paint colours before stamping them onto paper to create unique patterns and designs. They loved experimenting with different colours, shapes, and prints while discovering that everyday recycled materials can be transformed into exciting art tools.
This experience encouraged creativity, supported fine motor development, and promoted important social skills as the children took turns, shared resources, and worked alongside their friends. It also sparked conversations about reusing materials and caring for our environment in fun and meaningful ways.
What a wonderful day of creative exploration, learning through play, and sustainable art! πβ¨
