🌋 VOLCANO ERUPTION! 🧪✨

Our PreKindy little scientists had so much fun exploring a very exciting volcano experiment today!

Using bicarbonate soda, food colouring and vinegar, the children mixed the ingredients together and… WOW! 🌋 We watched as our volcano bubbled, fizzed and foamed right before our eyes!

The children were filled with curiosity and excitement as they watched the reaction, eagerly wondering what would happen next. Their enthusiasm was contagious, so we extended the experience by giving each child the opportunity to conduct their very own volcano experiment! 🧪

Through this hands-on experience, the children explored cause and effect, prediction, observation and early scientific thinking, all while learning through play.

So many excited faces and lots of bubbly, messy fun! 🌋🫧💛

Today at Nurture Early Education, our little learners celebrated Daffodil Day with a splash of yellow! 💛

Daffodil Day is a beautiful opportunity to bring our community together and show our support for those impacted by cancer. 🌼💛

🍞🧈 Science Week: Food Science! 🧪✨
This week in our kindy program, we have been exploring food science as part of Science Week! The children have loved getting hands-on and discovering how everyday ingredients can change through mixing, shaking, kneading and cooking.
On Monday, we made our own butter, mixing cream and watching with excitement as it transformed from a liquid into butter. On Tuesday, we made our own bread for lunch, measuring and mixing ingredients, kneading the dough and observing how it changed as it rested and baked. The children were encouraged to make predictions, ask questions, use their senses and share their ideas about what was happening.
Most importantly, the children were learning that science is all around us! Through meaningful, hands-on experiences, they are developing curiosity, confidence and a love of learning while having lots of fun along the way. 🔬👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Last week our Nurture Early Education community proudly came together to support Jeans for Genes Day.

Our educators, children and families wore their favourite jeans while each room celebrated in their own unique way. From creative painting experiences to decorating colourful jeans and engaging in meaningful learning activities, it was a wonderful day filled with fun, creativity and community spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who wore their jeans, made a donation and helped us raise funds for this important cause. Together, we're helping support vital research and making a difference for children and families across Australia.

🦷✨ Dental Health Week in JR Kindy ! ✨🦷

Our little learners had so much fun today meeting our friendly Dental Dinosaur! 🦖💚

Through hands-on play, we explored why brushing our teeth every day helps keep them healthy, clean and strong. The children eagerly took turns brushing the dinosaur's teeth, practising gentle brushing motions while sharing all about their own bedtime toothbrushing routines. It was wonderful to hear their stories about brushing after dinner or before bed!

The children also loved squeezing toothpaste onto their toothbrushes, strengthening their fine motor skills while learning an important everyday self-care routine.

At Nurture, we love creating meaningful play experiences that build healthy habits from an early age while making learning fun!

This week our Pre-Kindy children have been learning all about the importance of keeping our teeth healthy and strong! 😁
We had so much fun exploring hands-on dental experiences, including: 🦷 Brushing our giant model teeth to practise the correct brushing technique. 🪥 Creating healthy smiles by adding "teeth" to our mouths using playdough, strengthening our fine motor skills along the way. 💬 Talking about how we care for our teeth by brushing twice a day, visiting the dentist and choosing healthy foods and drinks.
Through play, the children developed their understanding of healthy habits while building confidence, communication, problem-solving and fine motor skills.

We are incredibly honoured to unveil our beautiful new mural, "Little Voices, Big Song," created especially for Nurture Early Education Morayfield by the talented BindiLee Painting Services.

This artwork is far more than a mural
It is a story of Country, belonging, learning, relationships and community. Every detail has been thoughtfully created to celebrate the voices of our children, the connections we build each day, and the rich culture and history of the Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi Kabi) people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play.
The meeting places represent each of our learning communities, connected through shared journeys of growth, friendship and care. The native birds remind us that Country is always present, listening, teaching and welcoming us.

A heartfelt thank you to BindiLee Painting Services for sharing your knowledge, creativity and culture with our centre. It has been a privilege to work alongside you, and we are deeply grateful for the care, respect and meaning you have poured into this special piece. This mural will inspire conversations, curiosity and connection for many years to come.
