Stafford Heights Kindergarten is an affiliate member of Gowrie (Qld) Inc and a proud community-based kindergarten, offering a Queensland Government-approved Pre-Prep program in a nurturing, play-rich environment where children truly thrive. So close communication between the child’s parents and teacher is vital for setting common goals and ensuring consistency for the child. This also promotes positive and secure feelings within the child, which bridges the gap between home and kindergarten. We believe that children learn most successfully through experiences that are meaningful to them, so children are encouraged to follow and extend their interests. Our children are encouraged – within a carefully designed environment – to participate, attempt new challenges, and to respect and learn from each other. Our written curriculum is implemented based on the needs and interests of the children along with the requirements of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (2011). Our staff appreciate the individuality of each child and encourage the development of healthy self-esteem. We encourage independence to give children a sense of empowerment and mastery of their environment. There are endless opportunities in each Kindergarten day for creative expression.
