That’s a wrap on Men’s AFL for 2026! 🏉

Throwing it back to Unity Round against , a special round that celebrated the values of inclusion, respect, and community that make college sport so meaningful.

A huge congratulations to the boys for their commitment, resilience, and team spirit throughout the season. Well done on a season to be proud of 👏

Last week we wrapped up our Careers Dinner Series for Semester 1! ✨ 

We were delighted to welcome over 40 industry professionals, including 34 Emmanuel College alumni, to share their experiences and advice with nearly 100 students across dinners for Business, Engineering and Law.

These evenings provide an opportunity for our students to learn from those who have been in their shoes, gain practical career advice and discover where their degrees might take them after graduation.

Thank you to our alumni, guests and students who joined us! We look forward to continuing this series next semester with HASS, Science and Mathematics and Medicine and Allied Health.

On Saturday we held our annual Me & Mine Women’s Long Lunch! ❤️🤍🩷

Me & Mine is all about celebrating the positive impact we make on one another’s lives. Our female students were asked to invite a woman in their lives who inspires and motivates them whether that be a family member, friend, mentor or role model.

One of the most meaningful parts of this event is the exchange of gratitude letters between our students and their guests. 🫶

Thank you to our Women’s Committee led by our ECSC Vice-President, Gabby Muscat, for putting this event together and providing our students the opportunity to be present, thankful and thoughtful.

Emmanuel College Ball 2026 🪩🪩

A huge congratulations to the Emmanuel College Students’ Club on an unbelievaBALL night!

A special shoutout must go to our 2026 Social Executives, Caitlin Higgins and Jack Arthur, who worked tirelessly over the past few months to make the night as incredible as it was. This truly is a testament to their commitment and care for the blue dog community!👏🏽💙

Congratulations to our men’s cricket team for securing an incredible third place in the 2026 ICC Cricket Tournament!

Despite matches being cancelled due to wet weather, the boys stayed focused, committed, and ready to perform when it mattered most. Their determination, and teamwork truly paid off for a great finish 👏

ICC BANDFEST 🎸🎶🎤

Well done to our incredible band who took centre stage at the UQ Ampitheatre last Friday night for ICC Bandfest!

We are so proud of our musicians who performed three songs including an original by Band Convenor, Max Wilson-Smith!

We are also super proud of our Blue Dogs who turned out in droves to support in the pouring rain 🐶💙

ICC MEN’S TENNIS PREMIERSHIP WINNERS 🏆💙

A huge congratulations to our men’s tennis team for winning the tennis premiership and bringing it home for the first time since 2011👏

After 7 weeks of incredible games, our boys fought hard in the final against to come out on top 🎾

We are so proud of our boys and we thank the other teams for an awesome season 🤝

Over the weekend we held a Hackathon with !
The theme of the weekend was ‘Opportunity to Innovate’. Teams were challenged to identify spaces and industries that could benefit from technology whether it be AI, sustainability, health, education - the field was wide open.

We welcomed students from across the UQ residential college community with nine teams taking part in the three-day Hackathon. Teams delivered their pitches to a panel of expert judges for the chance to win part of a $5000 cash prize pool.

Congratulations to Team Plateo from who took out first place for their pitch which focused on an AI algorithm built into CCTV to identify students taking cutlery from the kitchen.

Today our very own Annie Hill came back to Emman to deliver a presentation on nutrition for high performance! 🍎📚🏃‍♀️

From fuelling for performance to building a balanced plate, Annie shared simple, practical tips on how to stay energised, recover well and feel your best day-to-day. Students were able to ask a wide range of questions, a pleasure to learn from here wide range of knowledge!

We wish Annie the best in her final year of study! Always great to have you back on campus💙
