The Rural, Regional, Remote Women Report aims is to understand the evolving realities of Queensland women across a series of measures like:

✅News and digital access and connectivity
✅Employment, industry representation and volunteering
✅Community services and accessibility
✅Connection and social cohesion
✅Disaster impact
✅Climate and energy
✅Future opportunities
✅Leadership and advocacy

Now in its second year, the research provides rich data to help decision makers, corporates, local, state and federal governments, not-for-profits and community groups deliver services, investment and resources for rural, regional and remote women and your communities best suited to your needs and wants.

It also means we are able to deliver the best value to our members, responsive to what you’re telling us, and advocate to all levels of government for rural, regional and remote Queensland women.

Congratulations on the success of the exhibitions at Warwick and Brisbane. The Red Dress Project has been a remarkable success. Listening to Kirstie MacLeod at the Brisbane launch at MoB on 25th July helped me learn more about the journey, the Embroiderers and the stitches that make the dress so special. An opportunity to listen to Kirstie again on the 13th September before the exhibit closes is not to be missed.

Celebrate the Finale of the Red Dress in Australia with Kirstie Macleod. Join Kirstie Macleod for an inspiring artist talk celebrating the Australian finale of The Red Dress and its extraordinary global embroidery journey.

The National Council of Women of Queensland are proud to support the Red Dress Project. Members and their guests are invited to join us for a Devonshire tea on 20th August from 1:30 p.m. at the Shingle Inn City Hall before making our way up to view the Red Dress at the Museum of Brisbane on floor 3. Members and their guests are welcome to join the NCWQ Management Committee at the Shingle Inn City Hall for Devonshire Tea, raffles and networking before the opportunity to view the Red Dress at the Museum of Brisbane $25 plus fees with proceeds supporting Bursary Programs which empower women. The National Council of Women of Queensland is pleased to support The Red Dress Project. Brought to Australia by All Threads and the Qld Women’s Historical Association the Exhibition at the Museum of Brisbane (MOB) opened today. The dress represents hope and love, sewn by 380 Embroiderers from 51 different countries. It is in Brisbane until 13th September. Each swatch tells a unique story.

We are thrilled another 10 courses have been approved for the Commonwealth Prac Payment starting July 2027! That makes 15 or the 30 disciplines who have Compulsory Prac in order to graduate. Prac Poverty is a reality and can make the difference between graduating and economic independence for students. This news is welcome. NCWQ has advocated for Paid Prac since 2024.

We are excited to hear the Red Dress has arrived in Australia. Some of our members are Red Dress Ambassadors. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the dress when it is on display at the Museum of Brisbane July 25th to 13th September.
