Cooking is about much more than food.During Cooking OMNI, students are learning how to plan, collaborate, adapt and take responsibility through real-world experiences. From following recipes to solving problems in the moment, every step helps build confidence, independence and practical life skills that extend far beyond the kitchen. At BiS, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when students are trusted to do, create and contribute.

In a world where so much arrives ready-made, giving children opportunities to create something from the beginning matters more than ever.
During Textiles OMNI, students are exploring macramé and tie-dye through hands-on learning experiences that encourage experimentation, creativity and curiosity.
As students work through colour, pattern and design choices, they are developing persistence, problem-solving skills and creative confidence whilst experiencing the value of making something themselves.
Meaningful learning happens when children are given the time and space to create, explore and bring ideas to life.

In a world of instant results and endless scrolling, students rarely get the opportunity to slow down and create something with their hands.
During the Hand Building with Clay OMNI, students are experimenting with clay through hands-on, creative learning experiences that encourage patience, persistence and problem solving.
As students shape, build and adapt their ideas, they are developing confidence, fine motor skills and creative thinking through the process of making. Some of the most meaningful learning happens when children are given the time, space and freedom to create.

At BiS, OMNI week is all about hands-on learning, creativity and problem solving through making and collaboration.

This week our students are exploring storytelling, filming, editing and production — and today they learnt how to use a green screen to create special effects and imaginative scenes.

Process over product. Courageous learning in action.

Last night, our Dolphins Class enjoyed their annual school sleepover!

Students spent the evening hanging out in the classroom, making their own dinner, negotiating games together and creating lasting memories with their classmates and teachers.

Most importantly, experiences like these help build resilience, independence, communication skills and confidence in a safe and supportive environment. We hope the Dolphins (and their teachers!) look forward to their well deserved rest day today.
