Yaamagara nginda, just got home from a 4 day workshop with a deadly bunch of boys and staff from a Flexi-School. Just thought I would share one of my poems, it outlines for me and some of these young boys what we miss and still have in our Gii Dhuwi; If we always remember.

FATHER

Wisdom, Martyrdom, strength and belonging is all gone.

My Father the paternal ruler, I am alone, lost and I am patiently waiting for love and devotion to come, hopefully with peace to lead and be strong.

My Father the leader is gone.

I dream of a strong, proud man that is everything to me.

For no words could ever describe his majestic presence.

My Father, the martyr, the man of wisdom strength and love, did instil in me my GAMILARAAY and NGURABAL belongings, with my proud spiritual people.

Wisdom, Martyrdom, strength and belonging is all gone, with my patriarchal father.

Stability and awareness will come with age, understanding with love, and knowledge with pain.

The martyr is gone to the land of our dreams, gone to the sacred grounds, yes gone, is the Father away from my loving hands back with the spirits roaming peacefully in our tribal lands.

Father!

My dear Father, I will miss your guidance and love, but the knowledge, wisdom and strength will remain inside my soul forever.

Wisdom, Martyrdom, strength and belonging is not gone.

For my future children for you I will one day be the paternal ruler.

My Patriarchal Father for you all.
