After experiencing domestic violence twice. An opportunity to open up. A safe space for all.

I decided to study my Bachelor's degree in Psychology Science and Counseling to help women and children experiencing domestic violence.

What is missing in the fight against Domestic and family violence? I can’t get over how any normal man can burn his own wife and children and himself. Make it make sense? How? We have advocated. I have personally been part of different projects with the government and I have spoken around Queensland advocating against DFV. Laws have been passed and we are still waking up to such devastating news 🗞️.

As a surthriver (survivor of almost being murdered by the person I vowed to spend my forever with ), I feel I need to show up differently in this space. I am still co parenting with this person and he is still claiming to be a victim. He is almost 50 and I still need to teach him how to parent his own children. He plays victim and believes he has done nothing wrong. Clearly, it’s a condition of his heart ❤️. No one can change the heart other than God.

The condition of a heart to decide to murder his own children and wife is a serious concern that needs urgent 🚨 attention. I am not sure all these projects and campaigns have sunk in the heart of perpetrators. Shannon Fentimen once said, “Men! We don’t have to beg you to stop killing us and our children?”

I totally agree with her. Why should we beg a man not to kill us and our children? When traditionally men were created to protect, provide and be the Royal Priesthood of a family. Men went to war to defend the country. Now we as women are going to war to defend ourselves and our children.

Lord there’s gonna be more to this battle against DFV. Show it to us and provide opportunities and resources on how to proceed.

A call to end DFV.
Domestic violence!
End it now!

Hi Lucy,

My name is My name # # # ,I have been given your details by # # for our next Safe Sisters gathering this year.
We have the next forum of the series scheduled for 13th May 2023.

Our theme for this year is “beyond the Labels”. Where we will unpacking the heavy labels of victim and perpetrator, while also looking at the 'grey' in this space where people can be both perpetrators and victims in their lives and how we can at times create a gendered binary where women are not held as accountable for their role in perpetrating violence or the harm from victim-blaming and not coming alongside other women.

If you could speak to this topic for the 30-45min keynote slot, I would love to be connected with you soon!

Thanking you kindly 🙏🏾

I met a keynote speaker Brenda Walsh today. An advocate against domestic violence. What a beautiful message she shared tonight to close Sabbath.
