Today, the Wombat children celebrated International Picnic Day with a special outing to our local park. The children enjoyed a picnic together in the fresh air, sharing conversations, laughter, and delicious snacks with their friends.

As part of our picnic adventure, we gathered together to read a story, encouraging a love of books and literacy while enjoying the beautiful outdoor environment.

🌱🫛 Harvesting Our String Beans! 🫛🌱

The children were excited to harvest the string beans they had been growing in our garden! Through caring for the plants, watering them, and watching them grow, the children have learned about the life cycle of plants and where our food comes from.

Harvesting our home-grown produce provides hands-on learning opportunities and encourages children to develop an appreciation for nature, healthy eating, and sustainability. The smiles on their faces as they picked the fresh beans showed just how rewarding gardening can be!

What a wonderful way to connect with nature and celebrate the fruits of our hard work. 🌿💚

At our service, we encourage children to develop healthy eating habits that support their growth, learning, and wellbeing. Through conversations, mealtimes, and hands-on experiences, children are learning about the importance of nutritious foods and making healthy choices.

Exploring a variety of fruits, vegetables, and healthy foods helps children build positive relationships with food while developing independence and confidence.

Today, our children explored the wonderful world of loose parts and natural play! Using a variety of natural materials such as bark, wood, stones, and other open-ended resources, the children were encouraged to create, investigate, and use their imaginations.

Loose parts play allows children to make their own choices, solve problems, develop creativity, and build confidence as they design and explore in their own unique ways. Through hands-on experiences with natural materials, children also develop a deeper connection with the environment while enhancing their fine motor skills, communication, and teamwork.

It was wonderful to see the children's ideas come to life as they discovered, created, and learned through play. 🌱✨

🏏 Sports Incursion Fun! 🏏

Today the children had a fantastic time during our sports incursion, developing their coordination, balance, and concentration skills through a range of fun activities.

One of the highlights was balancing a ball on a bat and carefully moving around without dropping it! The children showed great determination, focus, and teamwork as they challenged themselves and encouraged their friends along the way.

Activities like these help build gross motor skills, confidence, and resilience while making learning active and enjoyable.

Today we celebrate the wonders of our oceans and the important role they play in supporting life on Earth.

At Nurseryland, we encourage children to learn about caring for our environment through meaningful conversations, hands-on experiences, and developing an appreciation for the natural world around them. Even though it's winter, there's nothing better than spending time outdoors enjoying the warm sunshine! The children have been making the most of the beautiful weather, exploring, playing, and learning together in the fresh air.

From ball games and bubbles to imaginative games and nature discoveries, outdoor play provides endless opportunities for fun, friendship, and development.

Today our children and educators proudly wore yellow to support the Wear It Yellow campaign and help make a difference in the lives of children and families across Australia.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and showed their support. We are thrilled to share that together we raised an amazing $378, exceeding our fundraising goal of $200!

This week, we acknowledge and celebrate National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

At Nurseryland, we are committed to fostering respect, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and traditions. Through meaningful experiences and conversations, we encourage our children to develop a sense of belonging, inclusion, and respect for the world's oldest continuing cultures.

Together, we reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and work towards a future built on respect, unity, and understanding.

"All In" is a direct call to all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. It emphasises that reconciliation is a shared responsibility, moving it away from being solely a First Nations burden, and making it an active, ongoing commitment for the wider community.
