· to learn and apply self-defence skills
· to achieve physical and mental fitness through positive
· engagement / participation in the range of disciplines offered.
· to develop an appreciation of Taekwondo as a martial art
· to develop mental and emotional discipline
· to develop a sense of respect and responsibility for others as well as for yourself
· to foster a peaceful co-existence with others


Whilst many organisations around the world consider and practise Taekwondo as a sport, we at the Institute of Modern Tae Kwon Do place great emphasis on the development of each student's potential to defend themselves in a range of situations and to strengthen their mental and physical capabilities as a martial artist and a good citizen. Our training and social calendar does much to provide all of our students with the opportunities to develop their potential in this martial art. For example, each year two training camps are organised and much fun, skill development (and hard, physical work) is assured.
