Last, but certainly not least…
Our heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful team at Hilder Road State School, who organised a bus to collect us so we could join their Under 8’s Day celebrations. Their generosity meant our children could step straight into a morning filled with play, connection, and community spirit. What a beautiful example of schools and early childhood services working together for children 🩷

We had another wonderful outing to celebrate Under 8's week, this one was to Payne Road State School. The Kindy and Pre Kindy children were excited to adventure on a short walk to the school to join in the fun activities. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone at Payne Road State School for hosting this event for us all 💕

We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to St Peter Chanel Catholic Primary School, The Gap, Brisbane for welcoming us to their Under 8's day recently. St Peter Chanel arranged a bus to pick us up - which was an exciting way to start the excursion - and they safely transported us from Kindy and back again. Whilst at the school, the children participated in many activities with other children to celebrate being Under 8 💕

Water Safety with Mia and Charlie
Today we welcomed Mia and Charlie from PCYC The Gap, who joined us to explore the important topic of water safety. The children were deeply engaged as they shared ideas, asked thoughtful questions, and connected the discussion to their own experiences of swimming with family and friends.
Together, we learnt about where it is safe to swim, including recognising places that have lifeguards, clear signage, and safe water conditions. Mia and Charlie also helped us think about who it is safe to swim with, reminding us that children should always be with a trusted adult when near or in water.
The children practised identifying what to do if they ever need help while swimming - how to call out clear and loud and use the correct hand signal to say "HELP" not using a wave to say hello or goodbye.
This visit supported our ongoing commitment to empowering children with real‑world safety knowledge in a way that feels positive, practical, and developmentally meaningful.

🌼 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Day over the weekend 🌼

Our spaces were filled with fun activities, curious conversations, and a few memorable characters who brought extra smiles to the day. Most of all, it was a beautiful celebration of family connection — laughter, joy, and community woven together. We’re so grateful you shared the day with us!

If you were unable to make it, you might look to book a personal tour instead! We still have some places available in our Pre Kindy Program (2 to 4 years of age) and our Kindy Program (4 to 5 years of age).

Under 8’s Day is a Queensland born celebration the honours the importance of the early years recognising children from birth to 8 as capable, creative and active learners. It is a long-standing tradition running for more than 60 years that brings schools, early childhood services, families and the community together for a day (or a week) of joyful play based experiences.
