Next Friday 15 talented students will compete in the UQDI heat to be held in the Translational Research Institute Auditorium. Each student has three minutes to present their research and its significance in a compelling oration to an intelligent, but non-specialist audience, with only one static PowerPoint slide to back up their speech. It's been 4 weeks since we started this fundraiser, and 1 week since 60 medical researchers climbed 810 stairs to the rooftop of Waterfront Place. Now it's time to wrap up with our final group - team TRI-ing. They're studying the varying rates of wound healing and the development of skin cancers by aiming to understand the similarities between these usually separate fields. Researchers aim to reduce and eliminate these painful and expensive conditions and continue to do this work with thanks to fundraisers like Climb for Cancer Australia.
