A look back at a fantastic Try’a Trade day at Nudgee College! 👷‍♂️🚧

CSTC recently teamed up with CSQ to give students the opportunity to get hands-on, try new skills and explore potential career pathways within the construction industry.

From operating equipment and experiencing a scissor lift to learning more about teamwork, communication and the wide range of roles available in construction, the day was packed with valuable experiences.

Even Nudgee College Principal Scott Thomson got involved and had a turn on the scissor lift!

It was great to see everyone stepping outside their comfort zones, learning new skills and discovering where a career in the trades could take them.

This year’s theme, Safe work is for life, is an important reminder that workplace health and safety is about protecting people’s lives, wellbeing and future.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing helpful activities, information and resources to keep safety front of mind across every workplace.

Try’a Trade Days give students the chance to step outside the classroom and experience the construction industry firsthand.

Through practical activities, students can explore different trades, build confidence, learn new skills and discover career pathways they may not have considered before. It’s a valuable way to connect young people with real opportunities in construction.
