Could a Try'a Trade day change the way you see your future? 👷♂️🚜
At Nudgee College, Monica from CSTC Training caught up with students taking part in the day on behalf of CSQ to find out what they enjoyed most, what careers they’re interested in and whether the experience changed their thinking.
For Charlie, it was also a chance to think differently about what he might want to do in the future.
That’s what Try'a Trade is all about, giving young people the opportunity to experience different pathways, ask questions and open their minds to careers they may not have considered before.

Building trade skills is important, but so are the life skills that help young people thrive once they enter the workforce.
As part of CSTC’s partnership with CSQ, students at Brisbane State High School took part in a life skills session focused on the three Cs:
Communication - learning how to communicate effectively.
Community - surrounding yourself with the right people to support your goals.
Choices - understanding how the decisions you make can shape where you end up.
These sessions are about helping students build confidence, develop the right mindset and prepare for what industry expects when they step into the workforce.

The trainers were extremely supportive and helpful throughout the process. They made everything clear and straightforward, which made completing the diploma much less stressful. Their guidance and encouragement were a big part of getting it done.
