🍃 Exploring nature through art and sensory play 🎨

Our Toddler children combined natural materials with creative expression as they explored leaves, paint, and a variety of mark-making tools.
As the children painted over and around the leaves, they observed different shapes, textures, and patterns while engaging their senses through hands-on discovery.

Experiences like these support creativity, fine motor development, and early connections with the natural world, encouraging children to learn through exploration and play.

🌿 Our nursery children have been busy exploring a variety of resource baskets in the outdoor environment.

Filled with open-ended materials such as large Duplo blocks and Magna-Tiles, these invitations to play encouraged children to investigate, create, build, and problem-solve at their own pace.

By providing accessible resources outdoors, we support children's curiosity and allow them to engage in meaningful learning experiences that follow their individual interests.

Through hands-on exploration, children are developing fine motor skills, spatial awareness, creativity, and early construction concepts while having fun alongside their peers.

Climbing, hanging, and swinging are some of our children's favourite ways to explore their capabilities.
As they navigate climbing structures and experiment with different movements, they are strengthening their muscles, refining coordination, and developing confidence in what their bodies can do.

These joyful moments of movement also support balance, concentration, and body awareness, helping children build important foundations for everyday learning and development.

Our Nursery and Toddler children love seeking out books throughout the day, whether it's finding a quiet spot to explore independently or snuggling up with an educator to share a story together.

By making books accessible across all learning spaces, we create endless opportunities for language development, imagination, and meaningful connections through storytelling.

The children delighted in squishing, swirling, and moving the contents around, discovering new colours and watching how the materials changed and moved.
Sensory play encourages exploration, concentration, and early problem-solving skills while supporting children's developing senses.

☀️ Exploring shadows in the sunshine! ☀️

Today, the children investigated how shadows are created using natural sunlight, measuring tapes, toy animals, and magnetic shapes. They carefully observed, traced, and measured their shadows and the shadows of objects, developing early mathematical thinking while exploring light and space.

Through hands-on discovery, the children tested ideas, made predictions, and shared their findings with their peers.
