MEDIA ~
Our Year 10 Media Arts & Year 11 Film, TV and New Media students visited QUT as a Screen and Media Gateway to Industry School.

Students experienced life as a tertiary student, engaging in practical workshops in Production Design, Animation, Studio Television Broadcasting and Virtual Production and learned about the pathways into the vast array of jobs available in booming Queensland screen industry.

The Screen and Media Gateway to Industry Schools project, delivered by Essential Screen Skills, encourages partnerships between industry, government, schools and their communities to build Queensland’s future screen and media workforce. MMC is very proud to be part of this program which lays the foundations for our MacKillop Women to gain valuable skills and knowledge before they walk out of the classroom.

INTEGRITY ~
MMC Principal, Erin Wedge, had the privilege of participating in the Association of Josephite Affiliated Secondary Schools (AJASS) Principals Retreat in Hobart.

Walking in the footsteps of Julian Tenison Woods, the experience deepened connection to the Josephite charism he and Saint Mary MacKillop so courageously founded. In MMC’s Year of Integrity, the symbol of the tree resonated strongly through reflection, his writings, and time immersed in nature.

The gift of community was a highlight — walking alongside such remarkable AJASS principals was truly enriching, with their leadership, authenticity, and generosity fostering connection, friendship, and gratitude.

MUSIC ~
Our MMC Senior Music students experienced the high-energy stage adaptation of ‘Beetlejuice’ at QPAC.

Blending rock, comedy and musical theatre storytelling, the production enriched their current studies of narratives across screen and stage. Experiences like this deepen musical understanding and appreciation, bringing the impact of live performance to life beyond the classroom.
