Year 5 & 6 Camp: Day 2!
Our Year 5 and 6 students are having an amazing time on camp! From raft sailing and high ropes to plenty of laughs and teamwork, it’s been a fantastic couple of days filled with fun and adventure.
Here’s a sneak peek of the action - lots of smiles, cooperation, and memories in the making. We can’t wait to hear all the stories when they’re back tomorrow!

Camp Adventures Begin!
Our Year 5 and 6 students have arrived safely at camp and are already diving into the fun! After a smooth journey, they’ve hit the ground running (or climbing!) and are currently enjoying the high ropes course - showing courage, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.
Here’s hoping all that excitement and fresh air will lead to a good night’s sleep tonight!

Weaving with Nature | Year 5 Design & Technology
Our Year 5 students have been exploring hands-on learning in Design & Technology, using Lomandra from our school gardens and raffia to practise traditional weaving techniques inspired by Indigenous artist Ellen Trevorrow.
This activity has nurtured their creative thinking, patience, precision, and appreciation for First Nations knowledge, while highlighting the value of sustainable, local materials.
Learning with our hands, connecting with nature, and honouring cultural traditions — a wonderful example of our Learning Assets in action!

Happy Father’s Day, Bardon!

A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C volunteers who ran our Father’s Day Stall this week!

Our students had such a lovely time choosing special gifts for their dads and father-figures - there were plenty of excited faces and some very carefully considered purchases!

We’re so grateful to our P&C for giving their time and energy to create these special moments for our students and families.

To all the Bardon dads, grandfathers, stepdads, uncles and father-figures - we wish you a very happy Father’s Day this Sunday. We hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with the special people in your lives.

Costa, we think you might like what’s happening at Bardon…

We’re lucky to have a beautiful natural environment here at Bardon State School — trees, gardens, bushland and our creek — and our students make the most of it every day.

Our Forest School program gives our youngest students lots of opportunities to explore, investigate, create and learn outdoors.

For us, connecting children with nature isn’t an extra. It’s an important part of how we want children to experience school.

💙 Teacher Aide Appreciation Week | 31 August–4 September 💙
This week, we celebrate our amazing team of Teacher Aides — the caring, capable and incredibly dedicated people who make such a difference to the lives and learning of our students every single day. 🌟
Our Teacher Aides play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across our school. They work alongside teachers to help students engage with their learning, build skills and independence, overcome challenges and experience success. They know our students, understand their individual needs and help create the conditions for every child to learn and thrive.

And, of course, their impact extends beyond academic learning too. They encourage, reassure, listen, nurture, celebrate successes and build the strong relationships that help our children feel known, valued and supported.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented, skilled and committed team as part of our Bardon State School community. 💙
