Our Philosophy

We believe that the primary focus of child care must be the individual child. Every child is an individual with individual needs, abilities, interests and backgrounds. The primary objective of a childcare centre is to meet the needs of the individual child and provide experiences that will foster their overall development – the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, aestheti

c and social self. We believe that children learn by doing and that children learn through play. It is important to provide children with a wide range of developmental experiences that promote active involvement with material and peers and that allow children freedom of choice and decision making in both their learning and play. We believe that the primary focus of child care must be the individual child. Children need a caring, predictable, positive, comfortable and cooperative environment where they can explore, problem solve, create and work at their own pace, and which will promote their curiosity, their imagination and confidence so that they will feel a sense of satisfaction and self esteem. We believe that parents are the most important people in a child’s life. Communication between the carer and the family is essential in maintaining continuity for the child between home and the centre. Families will be made to feel welcome, comfortable and free to ask questions and they will be encouraged to participate and have input into the programs. We believe that the individual child should be respected in every possible way. We will respect and value their individual needs and abilities, their home, religious and cultural beliefs, all within a non-discriminatory environment. Our Goals
1.To provide a balanced play and interest based program that covers the five areas of children’s development (emotional, social, physical, language and cognitive) and also includes play, attachment, care giving, transitions and routines.
2.To provide a safe and secure environment that allows children to learn and develop at their own pace while providing support and respect for their individual needs.
3.Through spontaneous planning we recognise children’s interests and their special competencies and provide a range of opportunities for the children to explore and experiment within the environment during small and large group, planned and spontaneous, indoor and outdoor and active and passive experiences.
4.To provide an inclusive environment that respects and supports differing cultures, religions, beliefs, languages and abilities
5.To facilitate children’s developing self help skills and growing sense of independence in a relaxed and supportive environment.
6.To optimise learning opportunities for the children by providing a wide variety of equipment and learning materials that are relevant to developmental stages, obtainable and reflect the diversity of those within the group.
7.Families are encouraged to be involved in all aspects of their children’s daily experiences providing a link between the centre and home.

Ocean Life Education came to visit us last week, bringing their award winning 'Brings the Sea to You' morning with live marine animals and fun educational program.
The children were able to get up close and personal with various sea animals, while also learning about their environment and the importance of keeping our oceans clean.

The Kindergarten children have been learning all about healthy eating!
This week our Kindergarten class set up a juice station in their room. Using carrots, apples and oranges, the children along with the Kindergarten teaches used a juicer to make various types of juice. Everyone loved this experience, it was a great way for the children to experience new taste combinations, all while learning about the health benefits of different fruit.

Bald Hills Childcare Centre has limited vacancies in all age groups; including Nursery and Kindergarten in 2020, but you must get in quick to secure these spots!

We are a family owned and operated Childcare Centre in Bald Hills on the North side of Brisbane.

We provide many opportunities for your children to grow, learn and play throughout their time with us. We provide nappies, sunscreen and wipes for all children; as well as monthly Kindy excursions to our local library and have regular incursions visiting the centre for the children to think outside the box and learn from new experiences.

We have a Government approved Kindergarten program which enables children to be school ready in their final year before Prep. We also provide a Before School, After School and Vacation Care Program for the students who attend Bald Hills State School.
