π§²β¨ Our Swan Friends became little scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers as they explored the exciting world of magnets!
The children investigated how magnets attract, connect, and repel, eagerly testing different materials and making exciting discoveries. Working together, they built magnetic towers, developed their teamwork and problem-solving skills, and were amazed when they used the magnets' repelling force to knock their towers down without touching them!
Through this hands-on STEM experience, the children explored cause and effect, tested their ideas, and developed early science, engineering, and mathematical thinking through play. π¬ποΈβ¨

Can you believe we are halfway through our Veggie Fun Program for 2026? πOur Veggie Fun Program runs for 10 months of the year, giving the QCCS Kindergarten Children real-world experience of our farm to plate approach to food & nutrition. By learning, planting, growing, harvesting and cooking our featured vegetables, children develop an understanding of food systems, as well as confidence in the kitchen.
This month our feature vegetable is beetroot! Loved on burgers in Australia, this nutrient rich vegetable will be whipped up into a creamy beetroot dip by our kindergarten children. Donβt forget to ask about the fun facts they have learned, they will love to share their new knowledge with you.

Today our children enjoyed exploring a variety of dry and loose natural parts while engaging in colour-matching experiences. π
Edcuators joined the children at the table, encouraging conversation by asking questions such as, "What colour is this?" Through group and individual interactions, the children were supported to build their language and communication skills while investigating the different materials.
While colour recognition is still developing, the children had so much fun touching, feeling, sorting, and exploring the natural resources through hands-on play. These meaningful experiences help foster curiosity, sensory exploration, and early learning in a fun and engaging way. π
