Demi brings over 11 years of experience in the Early Education and Care sector, including the past 7 years right here at Goodstart Carindale. She is passionate about nurturing a strong culture of belonging within our centre.

📚✨ Introducing: 1000 Books Before School! ✨📚
We are so excited to launch our “1000 Books Before School” program at our centre – and we would love our families AND wider community to be part of it!
This initiative encourages children to build a love of reading by sharing books at home, starting from as early as possible. Whether your child is a toddler, preschooler, Kindy child, or even already in primary school, everyone is welcome to join in!
💛 This isn’t just about reaching 1000 books
It’s about creating special moments together, building routines, and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
🌟 Why reading matters:
Reading with your child (even just 5 minutes a day) helps to:
• Build language and communication skills
• Strengthen listening and concentration
• Support early literacy and school readiness
• Spark imagination and creativity
• Create meaningful bonding time
📖 How to get involved:
✔ Read a book with your child each day (or as often as you can!)
✔ Track the books you read together
✔ Celebrate every milestone along the way
At our centre, children can bring in their reading record every 50 books to receive a special surprise and celebrate their achievement 🎉
We know our Kindy children may not reach 1000 before school—but that’s okay! They can still join in and continue their reading journey into primary school. Every book counts ❤️

Our team at Goodstart Carindale recently completed their Full First Aid training over the weekend! 👏
Did you know that it’s not a legal requirement for every educator to hold First Aid certification? At Goodstart Carindale, we go beyond the minimum requirements because the safety and wellbeing of children is our top priority.
We are committed to ensuring all our educators are trained in First Aid and CPR, with regular updates to keep skills current. 💙
Caring for children is a responsibility we take seriously, and we will always advocate for ongoing training and professional growth to provide the safest possible environment for our little learners.

🏉 State of Origin Week is Coming! 💙❤️
We’re getting ready for an exciting week of State of Origin fun starting next Monday!
Our children will be joining their QLD and NSW teams and are encouraged to wear their jerseys or team colours from Monday to Wednesday. Throughout the week, we’ll enjoy friendly games, obstacle relays (with some tricky balancing challenges!), and plenty of teamwork and laughter.

The highlight will be our very own Kindy Room of Origin, featuring Team Bilby 🐨 & Team Koala 🐾! The children will take the lead in planning their big event—creating mascots, designing supporter signs, and working together to bring their ideas to life.
We’ve seen such a strong love for football and soccer this year, and this project is a wonderful way to build team spirit, confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging. The children will also be working together on a State of Origin mural to celebrate the week.
This is about so much more than footy—it’s about collaboration, joy, and children’s voices leading their learning 💫
We can’t wait to share this exciting experience with our families! 🎉

💛 Celebrating Culture, Inclusion & Belonging 💛
Over the past few months, our educators have been reflecting and learning together to strengthen cultural safety, inclusion, and belonging across our center. This work ensures every child and family feels respected, represented, and safe.
As part of this journey, educators and children are co‑creating cultural displays in each learning space and a shared cultural display in our foyer. These displays will reflect our diverse community, family connections, and identities, while supporting children to learn about respect, inclusion, and belonging.

To all our amazing mums, mother figures, grandmothers, and the incredible women who help our little learners shine — Happy Mother’s Day from all the children and educators.

Today we celebrate you — the lunch‑packing, cuddle‑giving, story‑reading, magic‑making superheroes who fill our centre (and our hearts) with love.

Our children spent the week creating, painting, giggling, and getting just a tiny bit messy to make something special… because you deserve nothing less than a masterpiece.
