Our toddler children have been proudly taking on the role of Child Safety Officers alongside Miss Holly and Miss Jenny! Together, they have been exploring our outdoor learning environment, checking the yard and sharing their ideas about how we can keep everyone safe while playing and learning.

Through these meaningful experiences, children are developing confidence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging as they learn that their voices matter. We love seeing them work together, care for their environment, and help keep our center a safe and welcoming place for everyone. 💛

🌟 Building Strong Foundations for School and Beyond
Starting school is an exciting milestone, and at Goodstart Carindale we believe successful transitions are built through strong partnerships between children, families, educators, schools, and the wider community. We focus on supporting children's development of the six key "C's" of school readiness: Confidence, Creativity, Curiosity, Cooperation, Commitment, and Communication, along with the three "I's": Improvisation, Investigation, and Imagination.

This week, we were delighted to welcome Simone, Deputy Principal from Belmont State School to our Kindergarten room. Simone spent time talking with the children about starting school, answering their questions, and helping to build excitement and confidence about their transition to Prep. The children were highly engaged and loved sharing their thoughts and ideas about their upcoming school journey.

Children's voices continue to guide our transition program, with their questions, ideas, and aspirations helping shape meaningful experiences that support their confidence, wellbeing, and sense of belonging as they prepare for their next chapter. We look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership with our families and Belmont State School throughout the remainder of the year. 💙📚🏫

🚑👷‍♀️🏥 Exploring the Important Role of Community Helpers! 🏥👷‍♂️🚑

Following a special visit from our local ambulance officers, children in our Kindy and Toddler learning environments have been inspired to learn more about the people who help keep our communities safe and healthy.

Through collaborative construction and imaginative play, children have been busy creating ambulances, hospitals, roads, and community spaces. Taking their learning one step further, they have been capturing aerial photographs of their creations, viewing their work from a whole new perspective!

As children connect their individual builds together, small projects grow into vibrant community landscapes. These shared experiences spark meaningful conversations, encourage teamwork, inspire problem-solving, and foster a strong sense of belonging and respect for one another's ideas.

It's wonderful to see children exploring the role of community helpers while developing their creativity, communication skills, and understanding of the world around them. 💛

💙 Kindness in Our Community 💙
This winter, Goodstart Carindale is proud to support The Pyjama Foundation, helping make a difference in the lives of children and young people in foster care.
Through conversations about kindness, empathy, and helping others, our children are learning the importance of giving back to their community. Families are invited to donate new children's pyjamas to our collection basket in the foyer, and our children will be creating kindness cards to accompany the donations.
