WHAT DOES THE CURVE IN YOUR NECK HAVE TO DO WITH NECK PAIN? 👀
More than you might think.
Your neck is designed with a gentle forward C-shaped curve called cervical lordosis.
A 2005 study by McAviney et al., examining 277 cervical X-rays, found that people with cervical pain had 18 TIMES greater odds of having a straight or reversed cervical curve (0° or less) compared with people without cervical complaints.
👆 Now look at the X-rays above.
LEFT: A normal cervical lordosis - neck curve.
RIGHT: Significant loss of the normal neck curve.
This doesn’t mean a straight neck automatically causes pain — but it highlights why spinal structure, posture and function matter.
The cervical spine can also play an important role in certain types of headaches, particularly cervicogenic headaches.
At Thrive Health Gc - Chiropractic Elanora, Dr Theo looks beyond “where does it hurt?” and assesses how your spine is positioned, moving and functioning.
Experiencing ongoing neck pain, headaches, stiffness or postural changes?

Pain isn’t always just about where it hurts.
When pain hangs around, your nervous system can begin to adapt to it — changing the way your brain interprets movement, sensation and even how well you control and protect an area of your body.
This can create a cycle:
Pain → nervous system changes → increased sensitivity → altered body awareness → poorer movement and control → more irritation → more pain.
🔄 And the cycle continues.
This is one of the reasons chiropractic care looks beyond simply “where does it hurt?”
At Thrive Chiropractic Elanora, Dr Theo focuses on the relationship between the spine, movement and nervous system, using chiropractic adjustments to help improve spinal function and the sensory information being sent to the brain.
The goal isn’t simply to chase symptoms — it’s to help your body move, adapt and function better.
If you’ve been dealing with recurring neck pain, back pain, headaches, stiffness or ongoing discomfort, it may be worth looking at what’s contributing to the cycle.

🧠 **Could your brain be running low on the nutrients it needs?**
When we think about brain health, most of us focus on puzzles, memory games, or keeping mentally active.
But what if the building blocks of a healthy brain are missing from your diet?
A recent study found that people with **mild cognitive impairment** had significantly lower levels of **Vitamin D, B1, B2, B6, and B9 (folate)**. Higher levels of these vitamins were associated with better cognitive performance and a lower likelihood of cognitive decline.
Your brain is constantly repairing, adapting, and creating new connections. To do that, it needs the right fuel.
✨ Healthy food.
🚶 Regular movement.
🧘♂️ Managing stress.
☀️ Adequate Vitamin D.
🥬 A nutrient-rich diet full of essential B vitamins.
At Dr Theo's Chiropractic Life, we believe health isn't just about living longer—it's about living better. Every healthy choice you make today is an investment in the brain you'll have in 10, 20, or 30 years.
Your body was designed to heal, adapt, and thrive. Give it what it needs to do exactly that. 💚

My Philosophy
I believe that life is intelligently designed by God. The same Creator who formed the human body also gave it an extraordinary capacity to adapt, regulate, repair and heal. Every heartbeat, every breath, every cell that renews itself and every wound that heals reminds me that health is not something we manufacture—it is something already woven into our design.
I believe our bodies were created with purpose. While we are all shaped by our genetics and life experiences, I do not believe we are merely products of them. Our environment, our choices, our relationships, our thoughts, our movement, our nutrition, our rest and our faith all influence how we express the incredible potential that already exists within us.
To me, disease is often not the absence of health but the consequence of the body’s continual effort to adapt to physical, chemical and emotional stresses. Sometimes those adaptations serve us well. Sometimes, over time, they become the very source of dysfunction and disease. Although there are circumstances where injury, degeneration or congenital conditions limit what is possible, I believe the body is always striving toward order, healing and restoration to the extent that it is able.
This belief is why I became a chiropractor.
I do not believe I heal anyone. God has already placed within the body an extraordinary capacity for healing. My role is far more humble. Through chiropractic care, I seek to improve spinal function and support the communication between the brain and body through the nervous system. By helping restore healthy movement and reducing mechanical dysfunction, I aim to create an environment in which the body can better express its God-given ability to adapt, regulate and heal.
My vision extends far beyond relieving pain. Pain is often the last expression of dysfunction, not its beginning. I believe healthcare should be about cultivating health long before sickness demands our attention. Imagine a society where children grow up understanding that every choice matters—how they move, eat, sleep, think, love, forgive and care for their bodies. Imagine if we invested as much into preserving health as we do into treating disease. I believe that kind of world would be healthier, stronger and more compassionate.
My faith teaches me that we are called to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. That includes our bodies. Caring for our health is not about chasing perfection or avoiding every illness. It is about honouring the gift of life, respecting the remarkable design of the human body, and creating the best possible conditions for it to function as it was created to function.
Whether someone shares my faith or not, every patient who walks through my door deserves dignity, compassion and the opportunity to express the greatest level of health their body is capable of achieving. That is the purpose that guides my practice, my profession and my life.
