Firstly, have you got your Book Week outfit sorted?! On Tuesday, bring your costume or accessory to school and change into it for the parade during P3&4. We would love to see you representing your favourite book characters.

Other activities to look forward to:
📖renting out one of the amazing Book Week short list books - be quick!
🍭guess the number of lollies in the jar (only if you borrow a book)
🛂fill in your book week passport!
🎶match the bells to the books

We were thrilled to welcome back San Sisto alumna Dr Lexi Prokopuk, Class of 2002, for Science Week - sharing details of her important research through The MadeHER Project. In partnership with the Queensland Government and the University of Queensland, Dr Lexi’s work is helping to better understand how periods and pelvic pain affect the daily lives, learning, sport, wellbeing, and future opportunities of teenagers - data that has not previously been recorded in Australia. Our esteemed San Sister also encouraged our students to be curious, make connections, share their interests, and embrace the many possible pathways their studies may take. An inspiring visit with a powerful message!

What a tremendously well-run event, bringing Catholic schools together in celebration of our rich traditions of music pedagogy, performance, and community. 🎼✨

🚫💙 It’s Bullying No Way! Week, and students will take part in activities across the College throughout the week to help bring this serious issue into focus. Just as importantly, our commitment to anti-bullying must continue every day.
Bullying is repeated, intentional behaviour that uses power or status to harm, upset, or intimidate others, and it can happen anywhere.
🌟 As a community, we all play a part in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. By staying vigilant, understanding what bullying is, and knowing how to recognise, report, and respond, we can help ensure bullying has no place here.

🥼 Tuesday – Women in Science lecture with Dr Lexi Prokoput (Past San Sister) in DW1

🤖 Wednesday – Robotics display in DW1 – see the new Robot the San Sisto robotics club is building

🌱 Thursday - The Seeds of Science – come and plant a seed of a native plant that will attract native Bees to your garden at home – outside DW1

🌙 Friday – Artemis documentary – DW1 – Come and view a video presentation about the Artemis mission to the moon that took place in April this year.

🏀 Wildcard Warriors Take on CBSQ Shield! ❤️
Best of luck to our fantastic basketball team as they head to the CBSQ Shield at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre!
Our ten amazing players earned their place in this competition through a wildcard entry in the qualifiers - then went on to win every game. What an incredible achievement!
The CBSQ Shield brings together schools from across Queensland for four days of high-intensity basketball, with teams vying for a place in the CBSQ Majors. We are so proud of our team’s determination, teamwork, and spirit, and we’ll be cheering them on all the way.

Celebrate Grandparents (and Grand-like people) with us at San Sisto College! Invitations were emailed last week and also featured in last Friday's Verigram, extending a special SSC welcome to Grandparents and "Grand People" to join us for Morning Tea and our Bookweek Parade on Tuesday, 25 August.
