😍 A big thank you to our kindy friend for bringing in “Baby” the guinea pig to meet all of our kindy friends! 🐹💕

We had lots of questions and conversations. When the children were asked, “What do guinea pigs eat?” we heard a few different ideas…

Then came, “What do guinea pigs like to do?” 🦗 crickets! 😂

But when we asked, “Who’s asking Santa for a guinea pig this year?” 🎅🐹

Suddenly EVERYONE had an answer…

“MEEEE!” 😆🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

Safe to say, Baby was a very popular little visitor! 😍

🌺 GUESS WHAT, EVERYONE ! $15 FLORAL FRIDAYS ARE COMING TO GUNDALA! 😍

We’ve been seeing all the sensory sessions, play dates and little playgroups popping up around our community… and we thought why not us too?! 💛🌿

So for Term 4, we’re opening up our Fridays for a special $15 Introduction to Kindy program for 3-year-olds who will be eligible for Kindy in 2027! 🎨🫧🌱

As a community, not-for-profit kindergarten, our goal isn’t to make a profit from these Fridays. We simply want to share our little hidden gem with our community and give our youngest jarjum a gentle, fun introduction to kindy. 🥰

Fridays will have small numbers, with a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and assistant educator, alongside a few of our lovely Gundala kindy children too. 💛 It’s a chance to make friends, build confidence and become familiar with the kindy environment before their big kindy year begins.

Expect sensory and messy play, nature exploration, music, movement, creativity, friendships and LOTS of play! 🌿🎨🫧

And we know settling into kindy can be just as big for families as it is for children! If your little one is ready for you to duck out, there’s a lovely café just across the road — Rabbit Hole Café ☕😍 Grab a coffee, stay close by and give them a little time to find their feet.

🌺 AND IT’S FLORAL FRIDAY! 🌺

In recognition of Torres Strait Islander culture, we’d love to bring a little Floral Friday spirit to Gundala. Jarjum, parents and carers are welcome to come along in their favourite floral shirt, dress or outfit ,completely optional, but the brighter the better! 🌺🌴💚💙

❤️ This is learning too.

Today S had a little fall from her bike. She wasn’t upset or distressed, but before any prompting from an educator, her kindy friends noticed what had happened and immediately gathered around to check she was okay and offer their help.

It was one of those little moments that made us incredibly proud. 🥹

Our jarjum may not all sit together on the mat for every group experience, but look how quickly they gathered when one of their friends needed them. That is connection, belonging and community.

At Gundala, learning isn’t measured only by pencil grip, recognising letters or how long a child can sit at group time. We also value kindness, empathy, compassion and caring for one another.

We are so proud of our jarjum, and families, you should be proud too. You are raising some pretty beautiful little humans. ❤️

They noticed. They cared. They helped. And that matters. 🥹
