Come along to discuss the ancient art of vessel divination, and get the chance to take a look at a Roman replication lamp used in this practice!

It’s Back !! And it’s bigger than ever !!
After having to postpone it last semester, we are bringing back the Humanities Honours Seminar hosted by UQ CAHS, UQ History Society, UQ Archaeological Society, UQ Advanced Humanities Society (New!) and UQ Student Philosophy Association (New!).
This is an opportunity for Honours students to gain speaking experience by sharing their honours topics or process in a short (5-10minute) presentation.
We’re looking for speakers who are currently completing their honours year is one of the following fields:
· Ancient History
· Classical Languages
· History
· Archaeology
· Philosophy
· Religious Studies
· Western Civilisation
We will do our best to allow everyone who wants to, an opportunity to speak, however, there are limited places and applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

It’s time for ancient games night! 🃏🀄️
Join us after dark for an evening of ancient board games, pizza, and drinks (non-alcoholic) to celebrate the start of Semester 2.
Attendees will be able to participate in a range of ancient board games. Two-player games will include Merelles (ancient Nine-Man’s-Morris) and Senet (an Egyptian game from the Bronze Age), while there’ll also be multi-player games like Tali (knucklebones) and Iactus (dice). Prizes are on offer for both winners and participants, so all attendees are encouraged to test their skills!
Location is still TBC, but will be confirmed soon!

We hope you are all looking forward to our viewing of THE ODYSSEY! We are excited to announce that we will be having drinks and discussions after the movie At Sixes and Sevens.
All ticket-holders will have received an email to RSVP to this through a Google form. This form will also be in our bio for anyone wanting to join us who did not get tickets for the film.

It is perfect for anyone looking for some extra help with their language classes, or anyone just looking for like-minded people to study and chat with.

This Thursday will be our Classics & Ancient History SWOTVAC Study Day !!
Whether you have assignment questions, need some more language tutoring, or just want some company while you study, we will have the space for you.
CAHS Execs and Members will be sat at Merlo from 10am-4pm to help out with any of your assessment woes.
