A reminder about the online PD session that we have coming up on 15 September 2026 (5-6pm) - Teaching AI Literacy in Adult EAL Contexts with Associate Professor Katrina Tour.

This presentation considers emerging AI developments and their implications for adult EAL education, examining the new opportunities and challenges. It introduces a pedagogical model of AI Literacy and explores how its operational, contextual, critical, and creative domains can be applied to adult EAL settings.
As always, this Zoom PD is free for QATESOL or interstate TESOL members; $20 for non-members.

We will be running a reading PD on Wednesday 14th October from 4.30 – 5.30 (Qld time) with Dr Lilly Yazdanpanah from LaTrobe University: When Meaning Breaks Down: Metacognitive Repair for EAL Readers.

This will focus on practical strategies to help EAL learners recognise when comprehension breaks down, understand why, and choose effective strategies to get back on track. This will be suitable for all teachers of EAL/D learners.
