It seems like all odds are against us this year. I'm sorry to let all the families down we had amazing attendance today...

However, the weather forecast is strong winds and the park is still wet unfortunately being quite shaded.

I'm hoping to secure a location with indoor-outdoor facilities for term 2, but I've been trying for 2 years and it's not as simple.

Fingers crossed for next Saturday morning!

Ciao a tutti, Since this is the first session for 2026, I'm sending a confirmation email to all my Italand contacts. From next, I will only email families who are sure to attend.

Please reply with you attendance and number of children via email or FB by 8pm this evening so that I confirm on FB by 9pm today if the session is going ahead. Weather looks cloudy but no rain yay

We are back!!

The sessions will only go ahead if at least 6 children( not families) attend. I find this to be the minimum number to ensure we can socialise and enjoy our time together. At this stage we have secured this number so I'm hopeful we'll be on every week 🙂

I will send an email every Friday afternoon to confirm your attendance (only to families who responded to the survey sent via email).

If you're bringing a friend just mention it in the email.
On Friday evening at 9pm, I will post on FB to confirm the session is going ahead.

Location
Cnr Mayfield Rd &, Nyrang St, Carina QLD 4152 (the fenced park behind Carina library)
Parking should be easy to find on Mayfield Rd or nearby streets.

Cost
$5 per child attending (any age, but suggested 0-6)
Pay cash or transfer on the day (I will have an attendance list printed and Mobile PayID)
You can attend every week if you want/can as the morning program will change slightly from the afternoon one.

What you need
Picnic blanket, anything else you may need for your children. The library will be open in the morning for toilet use, but it closes at 4pm). The area is shaded by trees.

What to expect in the 30 min session
Songs, nursery rhymes, stories and games in Italian to learn about Italian traditions like Carnevale e Befana but also speak, listen and live Italian!
After 30 min you can still play with the resources for as long as I stay at the park. I ask you kindly to help pack up unless leaving early. It's much appreciated.

I've anticipated our time to 3-4pm so that you can access the Carina library toilets if needed. Library close at 4pm.

There will be a sign in QRCode when you arrive.
