Story House Early Learning Chermside West

We are a privately owned and operated child care centre, whose commitment is to the care, development and education of young children.

Formerly Happy Tots, now proudly part of the Story House Early Learning family 🏡✨
Providing quality care, nurturing learning, and supporting strong futures for every child. 🌱 Our aim is to provide an environment that ensures the highest quality care and education from birth to 6 years through the participation of parents, the community and professionally qualified teachers and caregivers. Our centre is pleased to be operating a Queensland Government approved Kindergarten Program with an Early Childhood Teacher, aimed at preparing our pre-prep children for primary schooling. Our centre implements the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline and focuses on building upon children’s learning and development including literacy and numeracy skills and exploring the foundations of mathematics and science. We are committed to the implementation of the National Early Years Learning Framework and operate an Emergent Curriculum. Our program is based on the individual needs of the children in our care, is balanced and developmentally appropriate. It has variations, providing for a wide range of individual experiences. We have our own Bush Kinder Program that our kindergarten class participate in each week! Contact our Centre Director to find out more or to arrange a tour!

💖🎉 STOMP is coming to Story House Chermside West! 🎉💖

We’re so excited to welcome Story House STOMP by Nikki Visaj Movement to Chermside West this November! 🕺💃

Our over 3s will have the opportunity to enjoy an exciting experience incorporating movement, dance, fitness, mindfulness, creativity and cultural learning.

📅 Our Chermside West date and time will be announced soon!

Does your child attend on a different day? Once our STOMP date is confirmed, families can request a casual booking so their child doesn’t miss out, subject to availability and our usual booking requirements.

SAY HELLO TO Ms. Bel!

We asked Bel three quick questions…

💛 Favourite part of being an educator: building trusting and meaningful relationships with the children. I love talking with them every day and getting to know their individual personalities, interests, likes and dislikes. I especially value the moments when children trust me enough to come to me with their problems or seek my help when they are feeling sad, upset or hurt. Knowing that they feel safe and comfortable coming to me for support is very rewarding. I love being someone they can rely on, listen to them without judgement, and help them work through their emotions and experiences.

📚 Favourite children’s book: Too many but the Gruffalo and Who sank the boat

☕/🍫 Can’t survive the day without: caffeine, laughing with co workers and children and music!

Meet the Team Monday!

This week, we’re excited to introduce you to our wonderful Toddler Lead Educator, Ms. Mary!

Mary is a Diploma-qualified educator with 3 years of service experience, plus 3 year experience as a teacher in the Philippines. She brings a beautiful passion for learning, nurturing and helping children.

What does Mary love most about working with children?

“Watching children grow and develop is one of my favourite parts of being an educator. It is incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow, celebrate their achievements, and support them as they become more independent and curious about the world around them.

I also love creating meaningful learning experiences based on each child’s individual interests, strengths and needs. Building strong relationships with children, families and our team allows us to work together to support every child’s learning and development.”

A little fun fact about Mary!

When she’s not at the centre, Mary loves cooking and watching cooking tutorials! She enjoys trying new recipes and discovering new dishes, and says cooking is one of her favourite ways to relax and de-stress.

We are so happy to have Ms. Mary as part of our team!

Oh what fun Book Week was, we saw lots of Superheroes, princesses, Where's Wally, Buzz Lightyear and lot more. The staff got involved and Chef Granted created an amazing book week inspired menu!
