🇦🇺 Happy National Vegemite Day! 🇦🇺

Today we celebrated one of Australia’s most iconic spreads – Vegemite! The children enjoyed learning about this famous Aussie favourite, sharing their thoughts on its unique taste, and discovering why it has been a breakfast staple in Australian homes for generations. From spreading it on toast to chatting about what makes Australia special, it was a fun way to celebrate a true national treasure. Can anyone remember the vegemite jingle?

We asked some of our educators how they love to eat their vegemite and this is what they said -

Miss Glenda - I love to get fresh bread from the bakery, spread some butter and vegemite on the bread and then squish the bread and then enjoy 😊
Miss Catherine - I like to get some crackers (Cruskit) and spread some butter and vegemite with a slice of cheese to eat.
Miss Bernadette - I enjoy my vegemite with butter on toast and cheese. The vegemite pizza pockets and vegemite cheese pizza is also goooooood!
Miss Eseta - when I have a tummy ache, I love to add a teaspoon of vegemite to hot water and stir it in before drinking.
Mr Jarliam - I love when my mum makes her homemade vegemite and cheese twists.

🌟 International Day of Play 🌟

Today we celebrated the United Nations International Day of Play by exploring a variety of different types of play throughout our centre. Each room embraced its own unique play theme, providing children with exciting opportunities to learn, discover, create, imagine, and connect with others.

Through hands-on experiences, the children demonstrated that play is not only fun but also an essential part of learning and development. From creative and sensory play to physical, imaginative, and collaborative experiences, every activity highlighted the many ways children grow their skills, confidence, and understanding of the world through play.

The children and families were also surprised to see the educators had dressed up today as fairies, the wonder and excitement the children showed as they saw their educators dressed up was beautiful.

Each classroom also shared on their doors the benefits of play.

What a wonderful day of laughter, exploration, and learning as we celebrated the power of play! 🎉🧩🎨🏃‍♀️📚

🦎🌿 Our local lizard friends are some of our most regular visitors! They love checking out what’s happening in our classrooms, often stopping by the windows for a curious peek inside.

You'll also spot them exploring our gardens, wandering up the driveway, and sometimes even visiting us right at the front door!

The children enjoy observing these special visitors and learning about the amazing wildlife that shares our centre environment. 🐾✨💚

🤟 We are excited to share that we offer monthly visits from Mini Auslan, led by Amy, a Deaf Mentor, who is helping to provide our children with authentic and engaging opportunities to learn Auslan through play-based experiences. From our babies through to our Kindergarten aged children, these interactive sessions support the development of communication skills, inclusion, confidence, and cultural awareness. Through songs, games, stories, movement, and everyday interactions, children are encouraged to explore and use Auslan in meaningful and enjoyable ways.

We are proud to provide experiences that celebrate diversity and give children additional ways to communicate, connect, and express themselves while fostering a more inclusive learning environment for all.
