π 3, 2, 1β¦ Blast Off! π
Last week for Science Week, our children were busy designing and racing their own spaceships while exploring how things move through pushing and pulling.
We love giving our children opportunities to wonder, experiment and discover how things work through hands-on play.

π¨ Creative Minds at Work π¨
At Okeedokee, all children are encouraged to use mark making as a way to explore their ideas, express themselves and let their creativity lead the way.
Every piece of artwork gives us a little glimpse into how our children see and understand the world around them, from the things they notice to the ideas that spark their imagination.
Curious to see how we support children to express themselves and explore their ideas? We would love to welcome you for a tour. Give us a call or email our team to arrange a visit.

πΏ Connecting With Nature πΏ
There is so much for children to discover in the natural world. Recently, our children have been exploring nature through animal playdough, leaf collages, indoor planting and seed experiments.
These hands-on experiences encourage the children to slow down, observe closely, ask questions and discover what happens when they care for something and watch it grow.
At Okeedokee, we take pride in sharing opportunities for all children to connect with nature in meaningful ways, allowing curiosity to lead their learning.
We currently have spaces available across our centre and would love to welcome your family to Okeedokee.

πΌ Growing Ideas Through Play πΌ
Our children have been creating their own gardens through imaginative play, designing spaces filled with flowers, animals and gardening tools.
As they build, rearrange and care for their gardens, the children are developing creativity, problem-solving skills and learning about the natural world through play.
Our environments are thoughtfully created to encourage curiosity, imagination and opportunities for children to explore their ideas!
We currently have spaces available across our centre! Email [email protected] to book a tour and explore our learning spaces πΌ

π’ Exploring Numeracy Through Playπ’
Our children have been discovering just how naturally numeracy can become part of their play. While exploring plants and gardens, they have been ordering the stages of a plantβs life cycle, measuring their growing plants and matching seeds to different quantities.
These hands-on experiences are helping children build their understanding of numbers, measurement and sequencing whilst following their curiosity about the natural world.
𧩠Learning Togetherπ§©
Working together, sharing ideas and supporting one another - our children are discovering that sometimes the best way to solve a problem is together.
π A Blindfolded Perspective π
As part of our Early Years Wellbeing Program with The Resilience Project, our Kindy children have been exploring empathy and what it means to put ourselves in someone elseβs shoes.
Through blindfold drawing, the children experienced a familiar activity in a different way, exploring how we can all see, experience and understand things differently.
We are so proud of our partnership with The Resilience Project and love being able to bring these experiences into our program. Experiences like this encourage children to think about others, appreciate different perspectives and continue to grow into kind, thoughtful members of their community.
If you would like to learn more about how we implement our Early Years Wellbeing Program from babies to Kindy, please email Josiah to book a tour [email protected]

π Kindness in Action π
As part of our Early Years Wellbeing Program with The Resilience Project, our children have been exploring their kindness and empathy superpowers and learning how we can use them to care for others.
Over the past month, our Okeedokee community has come together to donate clothing and essential items for Baby Give Back. Through conversations about helping others, the children have been learning that kindness can make a difference and that even small actions can have a big impact!
We were delighted to welcome Tiffany from Baby Give Back yesterday, our Preschool helpers proudly filled her delivery truck with all our generous donations collected from our wonderful community.
A wonderful reminder that kindness goes a long way, and together we can support others in meaningful ways!
