Okeedokee Early Learning Centre is a purpose built centre, renowned in the Norman Park community for excellence in early childhood care and education. Located centrally, the centre itself offers a contemporary and unique environment, providing an enriching child care experience for our families. As a private, family owned centre, the licensees strive to create a strong sense of community both within the centre and in reaching out to our wider community. In addition to our state-of-the-art facilities, we believe our educators are exceptional people who are passionate and caring in delivering excellence in early child care and education. Guided by the nationally recognised ‘Early Years Learning Framework’ (EYLF) curriculum, we adhere to principles, practice and outcomes leading to being, belonging and becoming, essential to support and enhance young children in their learning and transition to school. The framework places a strong emphasis on play-based learning and provides the most appropriate stimulus for brain development. It also recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) as well as social and emotional development.

💙1 Year with Miss Jira! 💙

Today we celebrate Miss Jira’s first year at Okeedokee! It feels like Jira has been part of our Okeedokee family forever, and we are so lucky to have such a bubbly, loving and wonderful educator and friend as part of our team.

Jira has spent most of her first year on our big side, working in Junior Kindy. Her enthusiastic and joyful personality has captured the hearts of so many children. She brings fun and energy into everything she does, and when Miss Jira arrives, she is always greeted by the biggest smiles and very excited little friends!

💙 Father’s Day at Okeedokee 💙

Recently, we celebrated Father’s Day with our Okeedokee loved ones, welcoming dads and special family members! Our afternoon was filled with the children building towers bigger than themselves, bean bag toss competitions, games of golf, fishing trips, designing special trophies and getting stuck into our garden sensory tray!

It was such a lovely afternoon filled with play, laughter and quality time together. Thank you to all of our families who joined us to celebrate. We hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did!

1 Year with Miss Maki! 💜

Today we celebrate Miss Maki’s first year at Okeedokee! In just one year, Maki has become such a beautiful part of our Okeedokee family.

Working in our Nursery, Maki brings a calm, kind and nurturing presence to each day. She has created such beautiful connections with our babies through her gentle care, attentiveness and understanding of their individual needs, helping them feel safe, secure and loved.

5 Years with Miss Ayumi! 💛
Five years ago, Miss Ayumi joined our Okeedokee family, and we are so lucky to have her with us!

Ayumi’s warm, caring and happy nature brightens our days, and she is so loved by our children, families and educators. Over the years, she has spent time across both sides of the centre, sharing her Japanese culture and creating so many special moments with our children, particularly in Nursery and Toddlers.

🧡 Gratitude for Each Other 🧡

Inspired by our The Resilience Project Teacher Wellbeing Program, our Gratitude Wall is a little reminder to pause and appreciate the people around us.

Our educators shared messages of thanks and encouragement for one another, recognising the kindness, support, laughs and little things that make such a difference each day.

At Okeedokee, our team are a community within our community. We support each other, celebrate each other’s wins and are there to lift each other up along the way.

Feeling valued, appreciated and supported matters — and sometimes, a few heartfelt words can mean more than we realise!

Our Preschool children had lots of fun making their own pizzas, practising important life skills along the way. They prepared their ingredients, chose their toppings and built their independence — with a few sneaky taste tests along the way! 😋

🐑💚 Where Is the Green Sheep? 🐑💚

Our Senior Kindy children have been bringing one of their favourite stories to life through sensory play, searching through the tray to see if they could find the green sheep!

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of discovering a hidden sheep and sharing that little moment of happiness with a friend.
