Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation

Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation QATSIF provides educational scholarships to assist Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to complete their Year 11 and 12 studies.

QATSIF is a charitable trust which provides educational scholarships to support Queensland First Nations Year 11 and 12 students and shares opportunities for all First Nations young people. QATSIF supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with gaining their QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education) and also supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with a disability to gain their QCIA (Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement).

Supporting Queensland Year 12 State School students to pursue tertiary teaching studies.

The Teachers Health Tertiary Teaching Scholarship (QLD) is open to students in Queensland. To be eligible for this scholarship a scholar must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (Teaching) in 2027 and have completed Year 12 in a public school in Queensland in 2026. The scholarship aims to support high-potential students facing hardship.

Funding may be awarded over three years at $3,000 per year (a total of $9,000).

For Year 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from State Schools, experiencing hardship, moving into a Bachelor of Teaching degree in 2027.

AEU Federal Indigenous Tertiary Scholarship (Australia-wide) — https://www.publiceducationfoundation.org.au/aeu-national-tertiary-indigenous-teaching-scholarship/

Funding may be awarded over three years at $3,000 per year (a total of $9,000). Consideration may also be given to a one-off payment of $3,000 for relocation expenses.

Extended to Friday, September 11!!

Our 18th Round of QATSIF Scholarships are open for applications from current Year 10 and 11 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in all Queensland schools.

Our QATSIF Scholarships currently support 4840 Year 11 and 12 students who are working hard to achieve their QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education), International Baccalaureate (IB) or QCIA* (Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement). * For students with a disability who are counted in the NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability).

We are also supporting students in Alternative and Flexi schools with their Vocational Education studies.

All Queensland secondary schools have been sent application forms.

If you're an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander university student, you can get up to 50 days of PAID work experience this summer - with cadetships available across a range of industries thanks to the deadly team at AFL SportsReady - National!

You'll also receive a study and book allowance, as well as Indigenous mentoring and support.

QATSIF invites Elders, schools, our 2300 deadly Year 12 students and their families to join our remaining 2026 Graduation celebrations:

- Griffith University (Nathan): Lunch 11.45 – 12.30pm; graduation 12.30 – 2.00pm, Tuesday, August 25.
- UniSQ (Toowoomba): 10.30am – midday + lunch afterwards, Thursday, August 27.

Schools have received invitations to pass on to families. Elders interested in attending these events can contact [email protected] or via 3257 1777 to receive an invitation.
