YEAR 4 CAMP 🏕️

Dear Parents and Carers,

Ahead of the upcoming Year 4 camp, please find below some important reminders and packing information.

ℹ️ Arrival
Students are to arrive at school and line up on the Basketball Court by 8:15am on the morning of departure.

💼 Packing list
Raincoat or poncho
Day bag containing a hat, sunscreen and water bottle

🍎 Food
Please do not pack any food for the bus trip. Students should have breakfast at home before arriving at school, as morning tea will be provided at camp.

💊 Medication
If your child requires medication, please hand it directly to their class teacher on the morning of departure. Medication must be in a labelled zip-lock bag with the correct pharmacy label attached.

🚌 If your child is prone to motion sickness and you plan to give them medication for this, please administer it prior to arrival at school so it has time to take effect before the bus trip begins.

🌟 Prep 2027 – Our Journey Begins! 🌟

Today we welcomed the first round of our Prep 2027 families for enrolment interviews. 💙

It was so lovely meeting some of the newest members of our school community and, most importantly, our future Preppies!

Starting school is such an exciting milestone, and our focus is on helping every child feel happy, confident and ready for Prep. These first conversations give us the opportunity to get to know each child, learn about their strengths and interests, and begin building strong partnerships with families.

We can’t wait to welcome more of our Prep 2027 cohort over the coming weeks and support them as they get Prep Ready! 🎒📚⭐

The countdown to a wonderful first year of school has begun! 💙

❄️🎧 Winter Wonderland is coming to Ironside! 🎄✨

Get ready for an afternoon of music, dancing and winter fun at our School Silent Disco!

🕺 Years 1–3: 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
💃 Years 4–6: 4:45 pm – 6:30 pm

🎄 Dress up in your favourite Christmas-themed clothes or costume and join your friends for a magical Winter Wonderland experience!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Prep 2027 Information Night. It was wonderful to meet so many excited families and share what makes Prep at Ironside such a special place to learn and grow.

Some of our key messages included:
⭐ No homework in Prep – we value family time, play and real-life experiences.
⭐ Everyday conversations build the oral language skills that are the foundation for learning to read.
⭐ Encouraging independence at home helps children transition confidently to school.
⭐ Every child is unique, and we’ll meet them where they are at, supporting their individual learning journey.
⭐ Once children know the code, they’ll begin taking home decodable readers that match what they’ve been explicitly taught in class.

Our next opportunity to visit is our Open Classroom Morning on Saturday, 22 August! 🏫
