This coming Thursday we will welcome Dr Michael Carr-Gregg to Clayfield College for our Care@Clayfield parent event.

Dr Carr‑Gregg is one of Australia’s leading psychologists and most respected voices on mental health, parenting and wellbeing. He specialises in supporting young people and families, with a particular focus on the impact of technology on wellbeing.

Throughout the session, Dr Carr-Gregg will explore the growing social, emotional and digital pressures shaping young people's wellbeing in today's world. Parents and caregivers will gain practical insights and strategies to support their children to thrive both at school and at home. This session will be relevant to families with children in both the Junior and Senior School.

Our recent Year 4 and 5 Camp at Mapleton was a wonderful opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, strengthen friendships and develop their leadership and teamwork skills.

Whether soaring on the flying fox, spending a night away from home, canoeing, building bridges, trying archery, tackling the climbing wall or participating in team challenges, students were encouraged to support one another, show initiative and embrace new experiences with confidence and resilience.

For many students, this was their very first camp experience, making these achievements even more significant. Away from the familiarity of home and the classroom, they discovered new strengths, built greater independence and created memories alongside their classmates. Experiences such as these are an important part of a Clayfield education, providing opportunities for students to grow in character as well as capability.

For two unforgettable weeks, our Cambridge Scholars have stepped beyond our Clayfield classrooms and into one of the world's most iconic university cities.

Surrounded by centuries of academic tradition, they embraced the challenge of university level study, engaged in thought provoking discussions with international mentors and experienced first-hand what it means to live and learn in a place that has inspired generations of the world's leading thinkers.

Their time in Cambridge culminated in a special Graduation Ceremony and formal dinner, providing a fitting celebration of all they have achieved and the extraordinary opportunity they have enjoyed.

Beyond their studies, students spent their final week of the program immersing themselves in the history and culture of the United Kingdom, exploring iconic landmarks including the British Museum and the Rosetta Stone, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and even enjoyed a visit to Harrods.

As they return to Clayfield, they bring with them greater confidence, new friendships and experiences that have broadened their view of the world.

Thank you to the dedicated Oxbridge mentors, the programme organisers and Mrs Kim Eagle, Dean of Curriculum - Senior School, for supporting our students throughout this unforgettable experience.

There is something truly special about welcoming our Old Collegians back to campus, and this year we were delighted to host our 6s' Reunion and Back to Campus Celebration alongside our flagship community event, On the Green.

Joined by Dr Andrew Cousins (Principal), Ms Anna Lloyd (President of the Clayfield College Old Collegians' Association) and Mrs Carolyn Hauff AM (Past Principal and Patron of the Clayfield College Old Collegians' Association), alumni reflected on the experiences and friendships that shaped their time at Clayfield. It was also a pleasure to welcome back former staff members Ms Doris Haddock, Mrs Pamela and Mr David Hodgetts, and Mr Doug Kiddell, whose presence made the occasion even more special for our Old Collegians.

Our reunion guests explored memorabilia in the Clayfield College Museum, enjoyed a guided campus tour and revisited familiar childhood spaces before continuing the celebrations at On the Green.

The dedicated CCOCA tent became a hub of connection as Old Collegians from across the decades gathered to catch up, share stories and enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment, including performances by Chloe Noon (Class of 2024) and Australian music icon Ben Lee.

Before taking the stage with Australian music icon, Ben Lee and his band at On the Green, our Senior choristers and instrumentalists, Reese T and Ema C were invited behind the scenes for an exclusive rehearsal and Q&A session that offered a rare glimpse into the creative mind of one of Australia's most enduring artists.

While rehearsing alongside Ben was an unforgettable experience for our Canzona, Ragazzi and Ciao Bella choirs, it was his generosity in sharing his journey, creative philosophy and insights into a career spanning more than three decades that left a lasting impression on our musicians.

Together, Ben and the students explored songwriting, musical influences and the changing landscape of the music industry. Ben spoke candidly about his creative process, using the song ‘Hard Drive’ to demonstrate how ideas evolve and how creativity is rarely something that can be controlled.

More than a rehearsal, this experience was a masterclass in creativity as Ben encouraged students to embrace their individuality, reminding them that authenticity is far more valuable than perfection and that opportunities often come to those who persist, continue creating and stay true to their own unique voice.

By creating experiences that inspire, enrich and empower our students, the Foundation continues to provide opportunities that encourage students to discover their passions and let their unique talents shine.

Clayfield College was a sea of denim as students swapped their uniforms for jeans in support of Jeans for Genes Day.

Led by Campbell House, a lunch bake sale raised vital funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute, helping advance research into treatments and cures for children’s genetic diseases.

Thank you to everyone who supported this worthy cause, helping bring hope to children and families affected by genetic diseases.

This week, our College community came together to celebrate Faith Week, with students and staff participating in a range of activities, meaningful conversations and opportunities to deepen our understanding of God's love.

This year's theme, 'No fear in God's unconditional love for us' (1 John 4:18), reminds us that God's love is mighty and powerful, leaving no place for fear.

Throughout the week, our Gratitude Wall quickly filled with messages of thanks and our Year 12 students shared the joy of reading Bible stories with our Prep and Year 1 students.

Students also enjoyed a Faith Week scavenger hunt, contributed to a community artwork, heard from guest speakers and celebrated together with cake and fellowship.

Faith Week was a wonderful celebration of faith, connection and belonging.

Bowden Park came alive as students from Years 2 to 6 took part in our Junior School Interhouse Athletics Carnival.

From sprints and relays to jumps and throws, students embraced every opportunity to challenge themselves, support their friends and contribute valuable points towards the overall House Championship.

The inclusive format created a wonderful atmosphere for students to try new events and learn new skills, with outstanding participation and sportsmanship on display throughout the day.

Thank you to our staff and coaches for making the day such a memorable experience for our students and to the families who came along to encourage our young athletes.
