RENSHAW RECALLED: Congratulations to BGS Old Boy Matt Renshaw ’13, who has been recalled to the Australian Test squad for the second Test against Bangladesh in Mackay.
Renshaw has been named in Australia’s 13-player squad for the Test at Great Barrier Reef Stadium, beginning Saturday, and is in contention to open the batting alongside Travis Head.
The recall marks another chapter in Matt’s international career. He made his Test debut in 2016 and has represented Australia on 14 occasions, including a memorable 184 against Pakistan at the SCG in 2017.
It also follows what has already been an impressive 2026 for the Queenslander across formats.
In his recent conversation with fellow Old Boy Chris Titley ’98, Matt spoke about the unpredictability of professional cricket, dealing with the pressures of selection and, importantly, the need to stay ready when the next opportunity arrives.
That opportunity has arrived once again.
The Brisbane Grammar School Old Boys’ Association congratulates Matt on his recall and wishes him and the Australian team all the best in Mackay.
