One parent commented the 🌻 sand tray looks like a graveyard 🪦. Love kids creativity ✨👌🏻
I loved the theme this week - All things Yellow. I’m in the midst of planning for term three and would love your theme ideas. What would you love to see next?

🌸 Mother’s Day musings 🌸
Mother’s Day can be a tricky one and certainly an enjoyable one for many as well.
A few thoughts on my mind.
1. Today is a day many would prefer to jump over. Is there someone in your network that needs some love and TLC today? A text, voice note or a call could just shine some light and love on a hard day.
2. I have the privilege of speaking to and being connected with over 100 mums every week and this is what I know for sure - everyone is doing THEIR best. If no one has told you today, you’re a wonderful mum.
3. Show up for people. I had Edzocate staffing logistics this week and couldn’t cover facilitating my Thursday sessions as I had my son’s Kindy Mother’s Day morning. I felt guilt initially at postponing a session (something I never do). My son would have remembered me not showing up for him in 10 years but would my Thursday clients?… Probably not. There is so much power and love in showing up for people - in good times and bad.
✨ Life is precious. Get some sun on your face, find some joy in your day and close Instagram and send that text 💓.
P.S. 💅 I’ll be rocking this nail polish for a while. Not too shabby for a first time job, compliments of my 5 year old.

I had the pleasure of attending Brisbane TEDx yesterday ✨
It was hard to get to sleep last night buzzing from meeting and listening to so many inspiring people. My brain is whirring!
If you love a TEDx talk like I do, yesterdays speeches are not ones to miss.
There were many incredible takeaways from all the speakers but some people and messages that have stuck with me are…
🩸1 in 3 people will need a blood donation in their lifetime and 1 in 30 will donate blood. Kate Fisher was remarkable on stage and shared how blood donations continue to save her daughter, Marliegh’s life. I’m going this week to donate blood - what about you?
📱Lottie Tajouri, a molecular biologist was so humorous and inspiring on stage talking about how our phones are a third hand and are riddled with germs.
🚚 Rolf Gomes from 💕 truly remarkable.
✨ Loved my cup filling chats with ✨

I feel so privileged to be part of yesterday. There are so many amazing humans in our world doing marvellous things for our planet.
Yesterday reminded me that you never know what conversation can change your life. Be brave and say hello, exchange details if you’re comfortable and be kind. I don’t usually make promises but it’s something I stand by - I promise wonderful things can happen. Make the first move. Life has a way of giving us serendipitous moments. 💖

Here’s the RECIPE I use ✨👇💙
Shout out to my mentor teacher Desley who passed along this recipe many moons again. I’ve tried many different ones and this one always does the trick.
This makes 3 batches btw 😉. I make it in bulk and divide into three.
RECIPE 🥣
6 cups of plain flour
3 cups of salt
Half a container of Cream of Tar Tar (McKenzies brand)
6 cups of boiling water
6 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
I mix it all in one big mixing bowl and use rubber gloves as the mixture can be very hot.
Once mostly combined into a dough, I sprinkle a bit of plain flour on the kitchen bench and knead the mix like kneading bread.
Once I’m happy with the texture, I divide into three and add my desired colours.
Knead each ball seperately until all the colour spreads.
Store in airtight containers. I keep them at room temperature but I know some people store in the fridge.
This mix lasts for months and months and doesn’t go mouldy in my experience.
✨✨✨
I use Queen food colouring
To make brown playdough you can use black tea as the water or add spices to the dry mix like cinnamon etc. *Add a few tea bags to the boiling water and let it steep. Be sure to make a third of the mix.
Glitter is also fun surprise in playdough. I buy chunky glitter from the Kmart craft section.
Also loving the chalk dyes.
I love playdough and it’s a weekly stable
💓 What does your child/re love doing with playdough?
