The Building Futures Montessori - Forest Lake campus has some very fluffy, very new guests this week! 🐣

The children are happy to have the Henny Penny Hatching program with us for another year. There is nothing quite like the excitement of waiting for a chick to hatch, and the children have been incredible at observing, learning and caring for them.

It’s the Practical Life curriculum, care of animals, brought to life: allowing the children to learn how to move slowly, speak softly and care for a living creature with absolute respect.

Please note that our Brisbane-based centres will be closed this Wednesday, 12 August 2026, for the Brisbane Ekka show holiday.

We hope you all get out there, enjoy your strawberry and cream ice creams, pat the beautiful animals and experience the most exciting rides the show has to offer!

A whole week has passed since Building Futures Montessori's owners, Derek and Vicki, alongside Area Manager Candace, attended the 2026 Montessori Australia National Conference!

Professional development and growth is core to our company culture, however beyond attending to learn and grow, the most important part of this journey is our connection with the greater Montessori community in Australia and beyond.

It was an absolute pleasure to connect with friends, both new and old, as we walked side by side, learning from incredible speakers like Dr Mark WIlliams OAM, Tim Seldin and Gavin McCormack, and many, many others.

Experiences like this continually solidify why we do what we do: for the children and for education for peace. 🌿✨

From 3 to 9 August, we are proud to stand alongside educators, families and communities across Australia to celebrate the profound impact of early learning.

At Building Futures Montessori and Building Futures Care, early learning is about so much more than foundational skills; it’s about nurturing confidence, independence and optimism in every child.

We're sending a heartfelt thanks to ALL of our passionate team of Educators, whose everyday commitment, love and care create empowering prepared environments for our children to thrive. While the nation celebrates this week, our team ensures that early learning truly matters every single day.

Building Futures and Montessori & Early Childhood Training Australia - MECTA #32075 have had the absolute privilege of being the host venue for the 3-Day Leadership Experience with Tim Seldin. A massive thank you to Montessori Australia for bringing Tim all the way over to us in Australia, and trusting us to host such a remarkable event.

Over three incredible days, the group dove deep into what it really means to lead with intention, exploring a culture of growth, deep and meaningful learning, leadership and financial clarity, enrolment with intention, communicating our vision and building a community that stands the test of time.

We are so grateful to Tim for sharing over five decades of wisdom with us, and to every single leader who showed up ready to reflect, connect, and grow. Sitting in the room as an attendee was special enough, but getting to connect face-to-face with our broader Montessori community is what made it truly unforgettable.

It was an absolute delight to welcome The Koori Curriculum into our Forest Lake campus earlier this week.
