🌿🦆🦎 Last week, the Orchids children had a wonderful time at Bush Kindy, exploring and connecting with the natural environment. The children enjoyed walking up and down the hill, developing their balance, coordination, confidence and physical strength while navigating the different terrain.
During their exploration, the children spotted some ducks and a bush turkey, which created opportunities for the children to observe and talk about local wildlife and their natural habitats. They then found a shady spot under a tree where the children engaged in imaginative play. Using sticks, they created a pretend campfire, with some children pretending to roast marshmallows while others used the sticks as torches. This encouraged creativity, cooperation, communication and role play.
Before heading back, the children discovered a large lizard! The children were fascinated and eager to observe it, sharing their excitement with their friends and educators. They talked about respecting wildlife by watching from a safe distance and allowing the animal to continue on its way.
After enjoying a small treat, the children made our way back to the centre. The children continued to enjoy the rest of the day with their friends, sharing their Bush Kindy experiences and talking about the wonderful things they had discovered.
It was a meaningful day of exploration, connection with nature, physical development, imaginative play and learning through real-life experiences. 🌿🦆🦎
